Brandon, Yes I suppose VW could take some of the styling cues from the old bus but I am afraid they will also go with a new platform that loses the space efficiency that I think makes the current EV

Re: 2000 EV Warranty
Are you saying that VW started working with galvenized bodies on the EVC's in the summer of '97? My '99 EVC was manufactured in 11/97.

larger wheels
Does anyone know if larger diameter wheels can be used on the EVC to help the low clearance? Sort of a smaller version of the 'monster truck' theme.

Re: Who has towed what?.................
We've towed about 1400 lbs of jetskis, while fully loaded with camping gear, up some steep mountain passes in Washington, and Idaho. Are you going to tow in a hilly area? If so you'll be in the truck

Re: EVC's & Roof Racks (Yakima)
Yakima includes a drawing that shows where not to drill when installing their product on an EVC, Aerostar, Pathfinder and others. It details some internal structural elements you need to avoid during

Re: larger wheels
most companies like Discount Tire Direct ( in magazines) can tell you what tire sizes will fit on your rims if you know the diameter and width and they will tell you what will rub or not. chris

Re: 2000 EV Warranty
The bodies on the 98 and on T4s are galvenized. I toured the Hannover facility in January 98 and was told that VW had revised the welding proceedures that summer in order to work with galvenized steel

Re: EuroVan Magazine Watch
Not to be heretical, but if any vehicle on the road today is the "new Microbus" it's probably the older Toyota vans. My reasoning is that they're relatively cheap - I see them being used more and more
