The sliding door on both my 93 and 01 Weekenders seemed floppy but always
closed tightly. I think yours is normal.

The 2001-2003 utilizes 91-octane best. VW recommends ATF changes every 40k
miles; changing fluid at that interval can only help extend the life of the
transmission.

If by "Super" you are meaning Mid-Grade you will probably be OK - all that the middle pump is (in most US gas stations I know of, anyway) simply blends the Regular and Premium 50/50% - so if Premium

Your transmission holds 3.5 liters in the sump and 1.85 liters in the
torque converter.
You better plan to change it all. It makes no sense to change just
65% when you know the remaining 35% is

Sounds like you are doing it correct. After you clean the pan and replace the filter. Screw the green tube back in and leave the drain plug off. Fill up with the new fluid until it starts to drip
