Hazard switch ticking
This has been annoying me for a while on my 2002 Eurovan Weekender.
?
There is a rhythmic ticking noise coming from my Hazard switch.? It repeats about 3x faster than the turn signal or the emergency flasher.? It sounds just like the turn signals, but faster.? It seems to go away when the turn signal or the emergency flasher is activated.? There is no current at the blub socket when this is happening.
?
I pulled the? flasher relay and found the alternating current on the black/white/green (sw/ws/gn) wire , corner wire on the connector.? I put in a new flasher relay and it ticks also
?
I looked at the Ebahn wiring diagrams, pg 1/11 (Emergency Flasher, turn switch relay)? I have never learned to read these diagrams.??
?
On this diagram, whe sw/ws/gn wire comes down from the large gray block at the top of the page.
?
What is H2/8??
How would a intermittent current get in this wire??
What does the sw/ws/gn wire conenct to under the dash?

Re: Leisure battery not charging from shore power
Thanks Duane and David for your information. I will look at these options. I am in the UK so will have to see what is available here. It is the original so I take your point that it is worth upgrading.
My furnace stopped working a while back and I'm wondering if it is connected to the same problem with the converter.

1995 Service Training Manual uploaded
That Eurovan Service Training Manual I mentioned awhile ago has been scanned and uploaded to /g/eurovanupdate/files/VW%20Eurovan%20Service%20Training%20Manual%20%201995.pdf
?
(I'm not sure if the system sends out any notice or not.)
?
I note that it's missing two pages which are listed in the Table of Contents as being about the Auxiliary Heater (Canada only). I double-checked - the copy I have does not have these pages.?

Re: Leisure battery not charging from shore power
If your 95 is original, the convertor installed is made by Magnatek. This provides ~12 volts to charge your leisure battery when connected to shore power, and 12-ish volts to the other 12 volt outlets in the camper area. As Duane mentioned, there are many "better" convertors/chargers available. I chose the same one Duane mentions, and you can read about how I did it here: .
?
I think this is definitely one area where "replace" is better than "fix" - the original convertor is a poor performer.
?
You can search the message archive for info about what other folks have chosen to use, and how they did it. Lots of information over the years.
?
If I was to do it over, I would probably choose to go with something from Victron - their gear is quite nice. That said, the Intelli-Power PD9245 has served me well for over a decade.
?
If you are planning to switch to Lithium batteries, that is something else to consider - you need to install a converter that can charge those "correctly", as well as a DC to DC charger to charge them "correctly" while driving.

My leisure battery is not charging while on shore power. Sounds to me like your converter/charger isn't working.? Just replace it, preferably with a better one like the PD9245.

Leisure battery not charging from shore power
95 EVC.
My leisure battery is not charging while on shore power. I get a good voltage to the leisure battery leads when the engine is running.
I am getting power to the 110v outlets when on shore power.
Can anyone please suggest what the problem might be and how to solve it?
Many thanks in advance.

Re: Replaced Norcold
Great idea, Pete!? When I replaced mine, I added a slide-out version of a Truckfridge T49 so that I wouldn't have to be kneeling all the time to load and unload the fridge.? Since the new fridge is more narrow than the old Norcold, I put in a side sliding drawer that just happens to hold bottles like wine or vinegar.? (Who really uses that much vinegar?)? I really like the sliders that you put in and the table idea!
