Re: List Status redux

Agree with Duane.? ?I don't know about these permissions.? Files appears to be okay.? Don't know how a "database" is created.? Might be an "administrator" task.? Photos should be open to all until we hit a limit, which it doesn't appear that we have.? I would be happy to help if needed.

Rear heating blew ‘97 Winnie

Just getting around to a fix on my antifreeze leak. Mechanic replaced valve and antifreeze tube connection. Still major leak.
A year ago, a forceful antifreeze spray blew from heating vent behind passenger seat. So I think the ongoing leak can likely be sourced to the rear heat system.
My question is: can this rear heat system be isolated, cut out of the antifreeze loop. I would gladly forgo heat and air in rear cabin, for a doable and affordable fix.
237,000 miles on original engine and trans - but losing the Michigan rust battle.

Thank you. Gary

Same here. I read all messages. This group has been more than often a great help with my '99 Eurovan MV.

List Status redux

Wow thanks for all of the support!?
Seriously, it's nice to hear that people appreciate keeping the list alive, and that it has its own small but active community still.

Also, it's nice to see folks contribute maintenance costs by sponsorship. This should be the first in several years that I don't need to pay the full cost. ?Your support is most welcome, thank you again.

Earlier, when I said I had turned on various upload settings - in all honestly I thought I had done so but I mistakenly did not apply the updated settings in all cases. I think they have been enabled now.

Now, one more thing - something that I said in the last message appears to have been misconstrued and amplified further by the reactions of the enthusiastic crowd.
We do not need to prune the list at this time. It would be a bit of a challenging task (although it could be done with a bit of text massaging.) But it's not currently necessary as we are under some sort of legacy rules. If it ever comes to that, I'll setup a Sheet somewhere that you can check your name off on or something like that.?

So please, although I'm happy to hear from you all, it's generating quite a bit of noise in the list, no need for further replies at this time.

(In addition, every time I send out a "special" message like this, another group of people drop off - apparently these make it through their filters...)

Again, thanks and have a good evening.
Happy Solstice!
RG

Re: New code - rough running misfire P1238

There's lots of people reporting injector failures on VR6 engines, it's not uncommon. If you can swing it, replacing all 6 at once is the best course of action. Beware rebuilt injectors, they're usually just cleaned, and that doesn't address the failure of the coils which VR6 injectors seem to suffer.

Re: New code - rough running misfire P1238

So I had a few minutes to investigate the situation.? All injectors check out at 15 - 16 ohms except #2, which offers no reaction on the voltmeter whatsoever (open circuit).? This is checking at the 10 pin harness connector? near the FPR.? I tried to check that #2 connector at the injector was seated and it appears to be, so either the injector is dead or there is a break in the wire between point A and point B.? Either way the intake has to come off.??

Blah, I am not really in a spot to just get a new set of injectors.? Have any of you seen injector failures like this?? I have experienced the "short to B+" giving out of spec ohm readings before, but never just an open circuit reading across the injector.

Looking back I have replaced #2 injector before, back in or around 2014.?
