Re: Norcold not clicking on propane
#Norcold
It could be that the 1 A fuse that feeds the relighter is bad, or some other wiring fault. Investigate that before you replace the relighter/igniter.
You should also follow the diagnostic chart in this service manual: Page 14 has the relevant info. |
Suggestions after EVC has been sitting for months
Hello.? Our EVC has been in Transmission rebuild shop since April this year and is finally getting put back together.? Assuming the VAN has been sitting in the summer sun, what sort of things should I probably get replaced before any type of road trip?? Was thinking Fuel Filter and connectors, Oil Change... anything else?
Thanks, Maurice '02 EVC |
Norcold not clicking on propane
#Norcold
Norcold worked great most of the summer.? Then last week on propane no clicking or lighting when the red button is pushed.? Battery mode cools great when driving.? Igniter is 3 years old.? I'm thinking of pulling it out, looking for loose wires, then ordering another igniter.? Any thoughts?? Thanks

12 volt electric outlets
Yesterday I had difficulty starting my EVC 2001 after 4 days of camping. I had traveled for about 3 hours and I recently replaced the battery and alternator. Today it started right up.? it’s my impression that the 12 volt outlet under the stove used electricity from the house battery and the battery gauge above the fridge indicates the remaining capacity of the house battery. Is this correct? |
Re: N80 Canister Purge Solenoid- Part

It's also possible that you could adapt a similar N80 valve from another VW or Audi model. They likely only differ in terms of connector, mounting, or hose connection direction/style. |

My mechanic cannot find this part.
Can someone point me to where I can find this part?. Thanks in advance. Malcolm Stebbins 2002 EuroVan camper: N80 Canister Purge Solenoid- Part #7D0906515 +++++++++++++++++++++++ |
Re: Fuel Injectors
If you are getting that ground to positive, then I am betting that the injector is toast.? You can check resistance of the injectors at the harness connection near the fuel pressure regulator.?? I have done this a few times (replace a few at a time...) and just remove the rad fans, grill, and tilt the rad out to service position.? On my 99 I found that I had to remove the alternator to get to that one bolt on the intake manifold.? It is pretty methodical getting the manifold out.? ? Best advice I can give is to rig up a way to pressurize the manifold once that you have it all back together to check for any leaks.? It is easy to pinch an o ring when assembling the upper and lower manifold, the injectors are sandwiched in between the two.? I once got the van all back together to find a fuel leak due to a pinched o ring.? That was a bummer. If you plan to only change the one bad one, be super careful removing and or handling the still good injectors.? Do not grab and twist by the electrical connector part, it will break right off.? If you buy all new injectors, they come with new o rings.? If you are reusing some injectors, buy new o rings.? I found inexpensive ones on rock?auto I believe.? You should only need to worry about the upper and lower o ring that seal the injector to the upper and lower manifold.? Lube them at assembly.? Clean up that intake manifold.? I replaced the upper and lower manifold gasket.? I took the throttle body off with the elbow, it seemed easier.? I reused that gasket at the elbow. I have a thread on the samba, but it is not super in detail of the process.? exovcds has a good video on youtube of the process.? Look him up, he has a lot of content. Good Luck!? Feel free to bounce any questions off of me. |
Re: Fuel Injectors
If you do it, change them all.? It's not hard but it's a lot of motions.? Might as well go over the cooling system and secondary air while you're in there.? The best tip I can offer is to remove the bumper, radiator/fan assembly for easier access, it's not that much extra and gives you plenty of room.?

开云体育Yes, it’s the original and ending with the two letters ‘AC’ not ‘AD’ as I thought before. I took a look at it with a mirror and a little flashlight. 开云体育You’re right Duane and I have been mistaken. I was pretty sure my TCM was ending with the letters AD but I took a look yesterday by removing the carpet near the driver’s ‘A’ pillar and, with the help of an extensible mirror, I have been able to see the part number which was ending by the letters AC. So everything’s correct. Thanks. ? Yves Canada ‘97贰痴颁 ? Envoyé à partir de pour Windows ? De?: Duane

开云体育Hi Steve, ? Curiously, I was just watching a video on Youtube about how to change a bad injector from an EVC. Mine is a 1997 bought in 2012 and it began to throw a P0305 code since a couple of months. I already changed the coil pack (wihich was cracked) but it seems I could have a bad injector after looking at that video......It’s said that spark plug # 5 is often getting wet so that doesn’t help the injectors.....Have a look at this one and good luck !!! ? ? Fuel Injectors
Hi All,
We have a 1997 EVC owned since 2001 with 120,000 miles. I'm getting a cylinder 3 fuel injector short to positive. Anybody have experience changing out injectors? I'm pretty good working on VW's but there's a lot of stuff that has to be removed to get to the injectors. Any and all tips, tricks, advice, videos, how to's, etc. will be greatly appreciated. Be well, Steve |

Advice needed with VCDS
Yves Desilets
Hi all,
Well, the other day, I did a scan with VCDS-Lite on my '97EVC. I noticed in the (02) TRANSMISSION MODULE that the code number of my TCM was not indicated correctly. In fact, it was detected 01P927733AC instead of 01P927733AD as the TCM installed on my van. My question is: Should I correct this code by going in the 'BASIC SETTINGS' of the program and changed the code for the real one or is it better to live that alone ? I wonder if that couldn't be the cause of the problems I had with my transmission lately.....Is it important for the ECU to have the same information as the TCM installed on my EVC ? Yves Canada |
Objet : [eurovanupdate] Throttle body

开云体育Hi Alex, ? Ok, I think I found it !! It’s 098 for realigning the throttle body.... Btw, I have the Ross Tech-Lite software and cable and I’m just begining Learning that thing. Seems hard to learn but profitable !! If someday, I’m able to understand it, I’ll probably by the Hex-V2 one... ? Yves ? ? Envoyé à partir de pour Windows ? De?: Alex L
