Re: Axle unit 95 euro & shock bolt

Why would you run just five bolts? You can get new bolts, and there should be a new set in your boot kit or with the new axle.

If you do cut the head off, and get the axle out, you should be able to get the remaining bolt out with vice grips. It may thread out by hand once the tension is relieved.

I'm looking to avoid the expense of the needed electrical upgrades at this time. The TF65 is on my radar, but the $$$$ for the solar and improved batteries aren't happening right now.
What went wrong with your Norcold? If the refrig circuit isn't shot I might be able to salvage it...

'95 hubcaps up for grabs

Hi all,

I just upgraded to 16" for the 1995 EVC. I have four hubcaps if anyone wants them.

Also, the old 15" rims, but probably no one for those....

Unless you are close to Boulder, CO I'll ask for some shipping cost.

2001 Weekender For Sale

I am the original owner [with terminal illness (bone cancer at its end stage)] of a 2001 Weekender with 202,000 miles located in Annapolis, MD. It has the original transmission and engine. On every engine oil change (Mobil 1 OW-40) and automatic fluid change (VW recommended fluid only) a sample of fluid is sent to a lab for testing. An uninstalled oil cooler recommend by Duane comes with it as do Bentley books and DVD. Oil analysis results are available to buyer. I do all routine maintenance engine oil change and ATF change using Scan II gauge to obtain proper temperature. Available free to buyer is an ATF change kit: Fill bottle with hose leading under the engine and bent at angle to reach into transmission.

Current condition:
Hood has two spots of peeling clear coat.
Rocker panels are rusted.
One quarter-size (coin) spot is rusted. Located between left front door and sliding door.
Rear lift gate shows four dings obtained in parking lot when another car wanted to share my location. No rust as a result.

Tires are 235/60-16 entyre.

It will be available in about two weeks. Price $12,000 or best offer.

Re: Eurovan Air Conditioner High and Low Side Pressure

There's a long backstory on this - I'm the guy that has had 5 AC compressors installed...
Details here: /g/eurovanupdate/topic/45983180#141663

In the past, the noises have either meant "imminent compressor failure" or "low on R134a",
and I'm curious if there's a way to figure out which is which.

I have the same noise problem- I "THINK" it might be the clutch. AC works great- haven't had to add freon in 19 years now- but it is getting very noisy.

The system was flushed and replaced in 2017 (Compressor, expansion valve, receiver drier).
The AC performance is great, and is quiet when it starts up, but it makes weird noises after running for a while.

I just purchased a manifold gauge set and took some readings:

Lo Hi Status
-------------------------
85 85 70F ambient, engine off
30 130 AC on, fan on speed 1
34 155 AC on, fan on speed 4
42 195 AC on, blocking grille with cardboard to reduce airflow

Sources on the internet are saying the Low pressure is fine, but the High pressure might be a bit low, and this could suggest it's low on R134a, but I'm not sure I have the right pressures: I believe the Sanden 1214 compressor is a variable displacement compressor.
