Thanks Patrick and Jaques for the info. I already have the door handle removed and sitting on my dinning room table. I'm having trouble removing the lock from the old handle and installing it into the new handle.?

Please if you know how to do this I would really appreciate any advice you are able to give me on removing and installing the lock.?

Thank you.?

The door handle and mechanism itself is not too difficult to deal with once you remove the entire door panel. ?Patience is key - follow the directions and it is quite simple.

Re: Chronic Limp Mode - 97 EVC

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I had limp mode with my ¡®97EVC twice and did a whole cleanup of the connectors to battery, ECU, ABS module and also, cleaned the big plug to the transmission.....it helped much ¡®cause I don¡¯t have limp mode anymore since that time.....Finally, got a tranny oil and filter change again and my mechanic found a culprit: one of the solenoid connector on the valve body was loose. So he took it off, cleaned it with stuff and curved something around it so it would stay in place without getting loose any more....Since that fix, I never went into limp mode again and I have driven 10,000 miles so far !!! Try to clean everything and also check your valve body carefully ¡®cause that¡¯s the one to be suspected....It¡¯s all ELECTRONIC over there and limp mode is caused by ELECTRONIC failure somewhere !!! Good luck...

Thanks, Duckdive and all the others.
I checked and rechecked a bunch possible causes, then rolled the dice last weekend and started a longish trip in limp mode hoping that the tranny would figure itself out, and it did.? After about an hour of driving at 55-60MPH (~2900RPM) she decided to go into overdrive, and stayed out of limp mode until today.? All is good - for the moment.?

Duckdive, I did mess with the wires coming out of the connector on the back left side of the transaxel. I've had the connector off multiple times, and have cleaned/inspected both sides etc. But never really focused on the wires coming out of the connector. This might have helped, but I'll never know unless I can repeat the procedure. While I hope not, I imagine I'll get the opportunity, and this will be my focus next time there's a problem. This isn't terribly satisfying from a root cause perspective.

Stephan mentioned the ignition switch glitch. I haven't really considered it because it was replaced not long ago.

One thing I did learn was a cool trick for cleaning the pins on the TCU and ECU. I used one of my kid's gummy erasers from their school bag.? The softer rubber type that are usually whitish in color.? As I ran it over the pin array, the pins cut into the eraser.? This cut channels into the eraser that fit snugly over the pins the deeper they cut in. The result was very shiny pins, better than any other method I've tried before.

I'll update the board over time about the success of this "fix".? Thanks again.?

This solves a problem if your Norcold (Model 3163)? fridge lights ( green light goes on) but then- after you release the button- the green light goes out and you can't get the green light to stay on- no matter what you do.

Contact me off-group and we'll talk about this!

Thanks

Re: Gas Tank is releasing dangerous fumes

Is access to the fuel tank vent difficult? Is it necessary to drop the fuel tank?

Re: Refrigerant control valve

Thanks Leo. I am going to look at some other electrical items first. Curiously, can the valve be replaced without removing the AC compressor? I know the system needs to be purged first.

Re: Replacing lock cylinder in door handle

Hi Paula,

I assume you are talking about the exterior door handle since you want to change the cylinder.

The procedure is very simple; with the door open, there are two screws to remove and then you just pull out the door handle.

I have added a file with the procedure called: " Remove outer door handle.pdf " to the file section, it is from my Bentley manual.

Hopefully this is what you need.

Re: Norcold's stopped cooling on propane

It is important to know if it still cools on ac or dc.

The burner could be dirty. In this case he needs to be cleaned by rv service center.
You can take a look at

?

I removed the norcold myself and the service center (can be thetford) just cleaned the burner and built it back into the van.
I strongly recommend to do it not by yourself because of possible gas leaks!

Norcold's stopped cooling on propane

We've been on a trip to Seattle since Thursday. The norcold's been great. High 30's and only blown out a couple times. Now it seems to have just stopped cooling. It's lit, but we hit 77 today and now it's right at 61. It's lit and staying lit with no problems or effort.

Not sure what's going on. Not going to troubleshoot too much right now, but any ideas about its sudden lack of performance would be appreciated.

Thanks.Peet

The only thing new here is that it communicates with its display wirelessly. Similar battery monitors that have a wire between the sensor and display are more like $50. Wireless data adapters are around $10, so they are making a nice chunk of change for packaging two standard devices together.

This topic has arisen and been discussed within the past year. It is not uncommon for the fuel tank Vent in VW Evs to become filled (clogged) with fuel - this usually occurs when the tank is filled, but additional fuel is (forced to top-off) pumped in (? trying to get to a round $ or whatever)..
I dont recall just where (the access to) the breather pipe is - but using compressed air to re-open the pipe-tube? was recommended.? Other opinions should be helpful too.
