Have you considered checking your fuel filter? you are right is sounds like fuel starvation.

AC NOT WORKING

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Im having a problem that just started today.? The climate control is not really working.? No matter where I set the temp, the front fans do not go on.? The rear overhead fans come on but are very low.? There is no cold air coming out anywhere if I put it on low.? If I crank the heat the fans still do not come on.? The defrost does not work either. I checked all fan and climate fuses and they are OK.? Any suggestions? It is an 03 EV MV.

?

Thanks,

Bryan

Re: Norcold woes

Sam,

I also am interested in purchasing one of your relays for my 99 EVC Norcold.? I can pay by paypal.? Please let me know how to order one from you.

Thanks,

Gas Tank is releasing dangerous fumes

A few weeks ago, I smelled gas coming from under my 97 EVC. I have been unable to find the cause. The smell has been intermittent, three times over a one-month period. When it comes it is strong, but not overpowering. I can find no drips under the van or signs of leaks. After a few hours the smell dissipates. Each time it coincided with a 100 plus mile trip in hot weather (90 degrees.)

Yesterday I was able to make a diagnosis.? The tank seems to be under considerable pressure.? After yesterdays trip I once again smelled gas. I opened the gas cap and a rush of fumes expelled for a good couple of minutes until it finally stopped. This is the first time I noticed this, though previously I may not have opened the cap until the van had been at rest for several hours.

I am assuming that the tank has a pressure release vent that may be clogged. If this is the problem, how do I go about fixing it? But even if this is the problem, why would the tank be pressurized? I would have thought the opposite would occur. And why would the condition be intermittent?

I fear that I am driving a time bomb that could literally explode. I won¡¯t be driving until I solve the problem.

Does anyone have insight into this problem? I¡¯d appreciate any advice or insights. By the way, I am currently in Santa Fe in case anyone knows of a good shop in this area.

?

Thanks,

Dan

Re: P1582 idle adaptation 2000 Eurovan MV

I had the same code on my 2000 GLS and tried all the reset procedures, but never cleaned the throttle body. ?I thought the code tripped because I had the battery disconnected for a pretty long period of time. ?Since the van ran fine I just kept driving it and the CEL went out on its own.

Re: Norcold woes

Sam - I'm one of the many belated responders to your earlier messages. I've got a 98 Rialta RD with a 3163 Norcold that works fine on DC and AC, but won't stay lit on propane. I've read the information at rialta.com and am pulling the unit to try to fix the situation. My theory is to upgrade everything that can be upgraded while I have it out, so your relay seems like a good thing to install. I looked through this entire thread and couldn't find your email address to contact you off-list. Mine is slyfords@..., and I can do Paypal. Thanks - hope you have some left.?

1993 2.5L cutting out on motorway

P1582 idle adaptation 2000 Eurovan MV

Mark Hollingsworth

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I'm having the?P1582 idle adaptation?code,
I went through the reset throttle body procedure (after cleaning etc)- even disconnected battery overnight.
It went away for awhile- then came back.

I know all the stuff the books says to check- but what seems to happen most often?
I checked for leaks my old standby method (spray carb cleaner, engine speed change means a leak) but realized with an auto idle engine that may not be as effective.

Any tips are gladly accepted.

Mark

Re: Part question Door

Update - ?part came (about 33 with shipping) and i just finished installing it.

pretty easy once you realize that there are 3 screws behind the speaker that need to be removed also.

Overall i 'd say its a 2/10 in difficulty and a 4/10 in patience.

Next up, left front brake squeak, likely a stuck caliper. ?I let the mechanics deal with that one.

What year is your van? I was having a similar problem on my '99 and a new coil block solved the issue.

Hey all, trying to see if there is any interest in a 2000 EV GLS that won't shift into reverse. Van is in good shape otherwise.?
I'm willing to take any reasonable offer to move this thing out of my ex-wife's driveway.
Let me know, It's available to be seen anytime.

Re: My Eurovan Cylinders 3, 4 and 5 has no power

Thanks Long,

Can I replace ECU with 1 from any other wrecked EV, same year?
Hall Sensor? Where is that?
Thanks for the reminder on the mixed spark plug wires, but I always check it against rotor rotation.

Fuel injectors, maybe? ECU?
On my BMW first fuel injector didn't fire because of bad computer! Engine ran very rough!
You have to target why you have no power in those cylinders if compression OK!
Fuel or sparks! You have spark, but is the firing order correct?? Mixed spark plug wires, bad distributor cap , bad hall sensor etc...

Re: My Eurovan Cylinders 3, 4 and 5 has no power

If the compression test of each cylinder is OK, it would not be a problem with timing belt, and more likely be the incorrect timing order.? Long

Like I said, i tested spark plug, ok. I tested sparkplug wires, ok. I compression tested every cylinder, every cylinder ok. I have not inspected the timing belt. What are the possibilities there.

If it's mechanical, do a leak down test with compressed air or simpler, just a compression test.
Test will tell you the conditions of the valves, pistons etc...
Is your timing belt is OK?

Re: View & Share Van MPG

For those of us in the USA it's a completely fair comparison as those are the only options to choose from. ;-)

I've used the app for a few years to track all my vehicles (10).

It's interesting to see what happens long term. Especially with your price per mile.?

Fwiw, my Sprinter kicks the Eurovans butt at 0.17 per mile vs 0.24 for the Eurovan.

Came across a interesting site. Silly name, but could be very helpful to current or prospective owners of any vehicles, not just Eurovans. You can review fuel stat's for all kinds of vehicles based on entry's made by people who own the vehicle. There are links for fuel tips & forum's, etc. You can even import information using *.csv if you've been tracking (for example by Excel). You can add more than one vehicle too.

Does anybody have a 2000 EV owners manual?

Mine got water damaged a few years ago, very hard to read some pages. If someone does have one handy, it would be great if you could scan the page(s) that identifies all of the warning indicators on the display panel and post it to the Group Files section.?

Thanks in advance to whoever can do this! (Replacement manuals are like $90 from Bentley or $190 on Amazon - used!)
