Fuel Line inspection
Today I finally took a close look at the fuel lines on my '93 EuroVan MV 5speed . The pictures and descriptions people have provided made it easy to spot the blue and black lines. Thanks to all for

Re: '99 MV wanted + advice?
Neil, I agree with you. If VW wasn't behind the EuroVan we wouldn't have the 1999 and now 2000 passenger models. It would have been very easy for VW to have not reintroduced the passenger van models

Re: '99 MV wanted + advice?
Brandon, I also live near Princeton, NJ. I purchased my '93 EV from Flemington VW. They have consistently carried the EuroVan line and offer good prices. Give them a call and see if they have any '99

Re: EVC sighting
Dear Alex, The Don Johnson show was Nash Bridges. Being a Canadian I don't know what US network carries Nash Bridges, and since I have peasant TV (no cable or satellite) I don't get US channels only

Re: EVC sighting
Not that is was a commercial but I saw a EV on some cheesy CBS show last night while flipping through channels, all I remember was that Don Johnson was in the show. Alex

EV Sighting on TV
I saw a Blue EV on Nash Bridges last night. In a parking lot scene near a soccer game if I am correct. It appeared in two scenes if I remember correctly looked like a 92 on. REG

Re: Another one bites the dust
John, There was a "95 EV (Winnebago) advertised I think in the Denver Post (might have been the Rocky Mtn News, I get both) last week for $16500. Didn't mention what the mileage was. John

Re: Piston slap - My story
I am curious if the rep identified what caused the cracking sound. Was it related to the piston slap? Up until now I thought the piston slap would not have an impact on engine longevity however based

Re: Heater Core Leak
I believe there are some alternative fixes for the coolant line that avoid removal of the gas tank. I think you make a bypass to go below the tank. Perhaps another member of this list can help. Ron

Re: EV rear brake shoes
Freeze up of rear brakes is common problem on the EV. I've locked mine in cold weather on at laest two occasions. Try to avoid using the parking brake when you know they are wet and it will sit

Re: EV Sighting on TV
The best TV sighting I saw was a EuroVan Camper in the updated Disney "Herbie" movie. How about a new "Herbie" movie based on the New Beetle that has a EuroVan pal that tows it to the racetrack. What

I'm a 1997 Eurovan owner and I just found out about the ev_update list. How do I get on it? Thanks. 3smiths@...

gauges, coolant
The Eurovan's gauges, (water, Fuel) goes bad after a few years, the only thing what have to be replaced is a $10 dollar resistor in the back of the gauges. It has 3 legs, a small black square

Piston slap - My story
I bought my 93 EVMVWK in Jan 96 as the third owner and 23K on it. I went over it with a fine tooth comb and had as much fixed on the 2 year 24K warranty as possible. It was put in service March 94. I

Re: Another propane tank mystery
I've heard that butane is added to propane during summer months, but i've not sure if its done everywhere. the problem with butane is that it doesn't burn below 32F - those with butane stoves may have

Re: gauges, coolant
Actually, I believe the part in question is a voltage regulator, and in our case, the solder joint was bad. Reheat/add solder and you're ready to go.

How many 93 EVMVWK? + winter(ize) talk
Is it true that there were only 500 93 EV MV's with the weekender package in the USA. Has anyone else heard that? It is my understanding that Canada recieved some 92's and 94's with the Westi top. Did

Re: Head Gasket Leak
Steve, Sorry to tell you the bad news, but you are going to have to fix this. Its not going to go away. The good news, is that it isn't going to be that hard - the 2.5L engine is a SOHC engine design
