Your EV has a very nice engine control system called OBD II. I say it
is nice cause it has a very good memory. Anything that happends while
the engine is running that causes the check engine light to come on
will be recorded. Then when you take it to the dealer and say "It did
this" they hook up to their computer and see what happened.
Since your EV is under warrenty (Right?) take it back and let them
have a look. It should not cost you anything.
Oh, and don't worry about them not knowing about EV's. The OBD II
system is used by all VW since late in 96.
