Thanks to everyone that gave me guidance on where to install the cd
player. I put it under the passenger seat, facing forward. If anyone is
curious, I removed the seat from the seat frame, removed the seat
frame, and welded a cross piece across the bottom of the seat frame.
Next, I welded the bracket that came with the CD player to the new
cross member.
While the seat was out, I ran the wires under the carpet, and up to the
radio. Installed the seat frame next, plugged in the CD player and
tested it.
Turns out I bought a defective CD player...darn thing won't get through
checking all trays for discs, gets stuck on disc 2, keeps putting it in
and out. Eventually the radio gives the 'E3' code, which, going by the
CD owners manual, is a 'defective CD player'
Right out of the box!
