I'm looking at a TV screen of cheering Palestinians, flashing Churchill's "V
for Victory" hand signal to a Western TV camera, from the front seat of a
EuroVan in Tel Aviv. The driver is wearing stylish bifocals. I've always
been a bit confused by revolutionaries carrying the tools of the enemy,
whether that be back-to-nature hippies singing along with 1000 watt stereos,
or cultural terrorists each wearing a Timex. Huh? I just don't get it.
My kids come home from school in three hours, and my wife is stuck in San
Jose for who knows how long. What exactly should I tell the kids? Let's
watch cartoons? That my secret wish that WWIII will come and go before they
are old enough to be drafted might be coming true?
