I called VWoA this morning and explained the fuel leak problem. The customer
service rep said I could only speak about MY experiences and not anyone
else's (?). She asked if I was going to take it to a VW dealer to be fixed
and I said, "Yes." She then took down my name and number and said she's see
what she could do to get VW to "help with reimbursement" once the repair was
done. Not to be a skeptic or anything, but we'll see what happens. . . She
was really nice once I told her that this is our 7th VW in 13 years.
What to do:
1. Call VWoA customer service and tell them of the problem.
2. Get in touch with the NHTSA.
3. Hope something happens.
I'm taking the van in ASAP just because I don't want to risk a fire,
especially with my family on board. Cost is not an issue at this point; it's
safety that counts.
