I paid a visit to NHTSA's web site yesterday (www.nhtsa.dot.gov) and
saw that 92 through 96 Audis are under investigation because of fuel
line leaks in the engine compartment...hopefully the EuroVan shouldn't
be far behind.

If this is the case and they are the same then we have the smoking gun
as to why a few of our EV's have burst into flames. And VW will have
hell to pay to explain this one away!
