Our '97 is very quiet with few if any rattles. Did you characters check on
your bedboards to see if there were those rubber dots stuck on the bottom to
stop the rattles? Each bedboard had plenty of these even after several fell
off and I replaced them.
Since we use the upper bed so little and seeing Gerry Edge's approach of
just taking everything out of the roof and using the hollow space for
storage, I can say that removing the bedboards did not silence the van any
at all because we had plenty of those rubber "dots" in the first place. I
may return the one mattress to the roof because it keeps clothes pressed
nicely for dressy occasions.
