That's where it should be, I took mine out last week,(for experimental
reasons)
Is there a two wire connector dangling in that area? I also saw temp
thermistor in a Corrado this weekend, Also located behind the drivers side
bumper, and it is similar to the one in the EV. If you find the wires, they
might be colored gray, and gray green, you could attach the thermistor to
them. Incidentally my display now reads, ---F. The wires may also have
been cut and pulled back into the battery compartment.
Hope that helps

Subject: [ev_update] No External Temp. Thermistor
Chris:
I looked at the black plug on the front bumper - there is nothing
behind it and no evidence that there ever was. So it would seem that my
'92 Eurovan CV has the overhead console with the capabilitly, but no
external temparture themistor to complete the function. Unless it's
somewhere else?

In side the black plug on the front bumper. It is a thermistor, and
one
from a jetta should work. When the 2nd generation jettas had them
they were
mounted on the drivers side fender behind the bumper.
