Re: Headlight issues - 1993 EV

Concerning the Eurovan LED headlight kits.
Are the reflectors in the headlight designed for LED bulbs?
If not, the light spread is not correct and will blind oncoming traffic, even on low beams.

Led bulbs (and before them the H4 HID upgrade kits) are the spawn of the devil.?
They work great for the driver but blind all the oncoming traffic.?
H4 reflectors are designed for a specific filament size and location. Neither the HID or led kits can meet this. There are loads of websites that explain this much better than I can.?

In my experience with the Vanagon headlight system, many times the relay add on harness is usually the source of the problem.? I have had them not work correctly out of the box and cause many strange issues.? Can you remove that harness and see if that helps the situation?

What I like to do is to use the H4 headlights along with LED bulbs.? That way to get really bright lights with half of the power draw of the 9004 bulbs!? So you don't need a relay system because the bulbs themselves are not drawing as much power so you are unloading the system that way.? Here are links to the kits that we sell for the early Eurovan and also the late model.? All of our kits come with everything that is needed to install them and they are a plug and play situation.

Let me know if you have any questions

My 1993 EV has had some headlight issues lately.? I don't know the cause, and I'm relegated to only driving in daylight.

The headlights were upgraded to e-codes many years ago (about 10).
The high beam option seemed to be problematic at times over the years... the "pull" on the lever would yield highs or sometimes just "off" on the headlights.
Now, the headlights are completely off.

I suspect it is the wiring or parts that I installed to upgrade.? But I'm wondering if there are any diagnostics (multimeter readings) I can use to confirm the dash controls would be sending the correct output.
