You could approach “ Colorado camper van” for a whole new top. I did that and am very happy with the result.

Yeah, it’s hard. To push it up, I stand on the stool I use at the door to push up with my legs, shoulders against the top.

To bring it down, using the stool it’s an easy pull. Before it’s latched I go out and tuck the fabric using a chopping board, which makes a gentle poke. I have a nice bamboo chopping board that conveniently just fits over the sink for more counter space. Then I get back on the stool, pulldown using the open vent to latch it.

I have a 2001 EuroVan with a Westfalia pop top I don't sleep up there but I like to keep it open when I'm sleeping on the bench bed.
The problem is is it as hard as hell to put up but even harder to pull down and keep the fabric inside when I'm by myself. I'm going to take a really good look at the lifts as it opens and closes unevenly.? I'm 68-year-old woman and it's getting to be a bit difficult. I have hear mixed reviews about the hydraulic ones. Any hints or advice would be greatly appreciated.
