Re: Grinding noise

If you replace just the CB joint and not the complete axle a word of caution. ? I bought a CV joint alone after going through the same question you have. Ordered what should have fit only to find the number of splines on my axle were actually different then that on the CV.?

So if you can do it in stages I¡¯d pull the unit out and remove the CV (spring clip holds it to the axle) then count the splines and order accordingly.

The other caution is really clean the socket head bolts on the transmission flange well so the 12 point or 6 point fits well.

Hope that helps.

Another question:? I see some individual CV joints for sale and then the complete axle for each side. but half-axles price out at around $400 each !? Do I just pull the axle and swap the actual CV joints out on the existing axle?? ? Cost difference is $200 vs 4800

Thanks
