I noticed a difference the first drive after putting them on. The Fox shock's extra oil reservoir keep them cool and take care of the wash board pumping. They also corner much better. I don't notice as much lateral shift on turns, especially off camber turns.
Put it this way; as much of a difference the Bilsteins
made over your original shocks the FOX shocks will be that over the
Bilsteins. I was skeptical given the price but after putting them on I won't go back. Its also good to know that if you have any issues down the road the shocks are fully serviceable. And for me driving wash board dirt roads don't blowout my CV joints anymore. The FOX's do a much better job of keeping your tires on the ground.
So Darin, since you have had both, would you say?the FOX has better high speed compression and rebound characteristics??
The Bilsteins do seem really harsh over washboards or sharp bumps.? I knew that going in but I don't?remember the FOX setup as an option back when I bought them.? Other than that they made the van handle much?better, especially when loaded, but I guess that's what they were designed for.

I had the Bilstein on my 95 for a while but I drive fire roads a fair amount to camp and I noticed the washboards were rattling my front end so badly that I had to replace the CV joints a few times until I broke the bank and upgraded to the Fox shocks. It¡¯s been two years now, quite a few thousand miles and no problems. If your regularity driving unpaved roads I highly recommend them.
