As a reference, or if anyone is interested:
There are 2 1999 VW Eurovans listed on craigslist in my area (San Diego, CA) for around $2,000. One salvage (fender bender), and one a busted head gasket with a clean title. The clean title one is a Weekender, but I don't know how much is compatible with my 2003 or I might go investigate.
Parts I could use from a Eurovan:
passenger door handle mechanism
driver's side door wiring
overhead dome lights
westfalia decorative light cover
I suspect that if I tried to buy all the parts separately I might get up towards 2K in costs.?But I'm happy to just leave my van the way it is.
