I don't remember his specific reasons, but Isaac Asimov once said pretty much the same thing. Something about how Engish has adopted words from so many other languages was one factor that I think he mentioned. Worse is when I am looking for a datasheet on some chip I've never heard of, and the only thing I can find is in Chinese! And it's usually a pdf file, I haven't tried that with google translate...
