Re: Slow PTT Release
Hi, I don't have the PTT-ID enabled but cheers for the heads up. It's quite ironic that my main rig is a FT911-A (that's doing just fine) , but I can't dedicate that for my packet node. Cheers, Mat.

Re: Slow PTT Release
Hi, I agree with what your both saying, but I'm setting up a node that will probably never get used (so I can learn). I'm in the UK so there is not the enthusiasm for packet that you are accustomed to

Please review the archives about all kinds of issues with using Baofeng radios with packet radio. There was a very recent post where one person just swapped out his Baofeng radio and all of his issues

Re: Slow PTT Release
You're running into one of numerous, and somewhat unpredictable, timing issues with the Baofeng radio. They are not suitable for packet radio, find a used "brand name" radio and use that instead. I

Re: Slow PTT Release
If you do a little research you find the Baofeng is not a good radio for packet, you can probably find a older/used radio with the packet connector which will serve you much better. -- John D. Hays

Slow PTT Release
Hi, I'm a packet newbie and I've got direwolf working (have to say, the manual is very good :) ). I'm using USB serial PTT control with a Baofeng - PTT is quick at TX, no problems there, but a bit

Hello Darryl, Got it. Ok. When you say "chat", what program is this? Is this something AX25 enabled that comes in HamPi?

Re: PAT not able to digipeat properly using direwolf
Darrell, Since you are using the 5.10.11 kernel, stop pulseaudio to see if that frees up direwolf from being busy. sudo systemctl --system stop pulseaudio sudo systemctl --system disable pulseaudio

Re: PAT not able to digipeat properly using direwolf
Hello Darryl, I've been doing some noodling around your "netstat -A ax25 -an" output issue and I was reminded by DL9DAU that this is a known kernel bug (I remember the issue slightly differently). The

Re: PAT not able to digipeat properly using direwolf
Yes, these are all stations that have popped mail using PAT as this PI also has linbpq running on it. It is using w8lrk-10 and LARK not w8lrk-5 or LRK....

That doesn't look right. Why are all these remote callsigns listed if they aren't connected. Do you know if these were stations that previously connected to your station? Techically speaking, you

New CM108 sound card coming soon
All, my club is lucky enough to have Steve N8AR as a member. He is the designer for the SHARI and the DINAH. We recently asked him to produce a more convenient sound card for our club packet project.
