Re: Slow PTT Release

Hi,

I don't have the?PTT-ID enabled but cheers for the heads up.? It's quite ironic that my main rig is a FT911-A (that's doing just fine) , but I can't dedicate that for my packet node.

Cheers,

Mat.

Please review the archives about all kinds of issues with using Baofeng radios with packet radio.? There was a very recent post where one person just swapped out his Baofeng radio and all of his issues just disappeared ( /g/direwolf/topic/pat_winlink_2m_packet_1200/81548950?p=,,,20,0,0,0::recentpostdate%2Fsticky,,,20,2,0,81548950 ).? This has happened to MANY people before as well.

Anyway.. to your specific issue.. if this isn't a poor quality radio issue, do you have the PTT-ID feature enabled??

Hi,

I'm a packet newbie and I've got direwolf working (have to say, the manual is very good :) ). I'm using USB serial PTT control with a Baofeng - PTT is quick at TX, no problems there, but a bit slow releasing so it transmits over some replies.

I've looked at TXTAIL, but it seems that also delays the PTT - Is there a way to continue the carrier for a set time without delaying the PTT. I've looked at direwolf -d o and everything seems ok there.

Cheers,

Mat.
