开云体育Hello Steve, Well, I have no idea how you would display maps in a textual view.? Going the GUI route: ?? - N7NIX DanTracker : medium weight messaging client via a web browser (local or remote) but currently doesn't have maps ?? - YAAC : medium weight Java program that can run locally ?? - Xastir : heavy weight client that can run locally via Xwindows - feature packed --David KI6ZHD On 12/03/2016 10:21 AM,

Re: Direwolf and Pine64
As a builder of products that interface to the Pi 2 and Pi 3 (and one that will go with the original Pi line), I have tried several boards that claim Pi 2 GPIO compatibility and they invariably fail.? The Pi 3 is pretty capable.? Another thing to consider is whether amateur radio related packages are being actively ported and maintained for a given OS and hardware.? Many applications are dependent on the availability of hardware that may need OS support. If you are a developer and comfortable modifying open source projects to your favorite hardware flavor of the day, this is a hobby for experimenters, so have at it and share your results with the rest of the community. 开云体育I don't see why it wouldn't work assuming this is a quality board.? Few thoughts: ?? - The PINE64 specs look impressive but there is more to a board than performance.? It's the support and the community behind the board that counts too.? The Raspberry Pi community is amazing and it's constantly updated and maintained.? You cannot say the same about some of the other "higher performance" SBC products out there that have been quickly deprecated in favor of their newer board (to only get deprecated).? This is the new IoT model and in my opinion, it's an emerging disaster.? Hopefully the Piine64 people won't be like this but only time will tell. ?? - Since this board looks to be able to run various Linux distributions, you should be able to compile Direwolf without too much work.? Those steps are fully documented in the Direwolf User Guide ?? - One risk here can be the compatibility of the soundcard on this SBC with Direwolf.? Direwolf is known to have some limitations with some soundcards on the Raspberry Pi so I would assume the same risks apply here.? This is easy fix though with adding an external $7 USB sound device --David KI6ZHD On 11/29/2016 08:58 AM,

Re: DireWolf 1.3 Digipeating bad packets
Everyone with a TX-capable IGate running DireWolf should use this filter:
FILTER IG 0 t/m | ( ! d/TCPIP/TCPXX ) for each audio channel until, this gets sorted out. The third-party packets with TCPIP and the q-construct in the PATH should not be transmitted on RF. respectfully, Jim A. ---In direwolf_packet@..., <petitnoel47@...> wrote : Other stations are picking up back packets from my station (WB0VGI-7) and KB0GTF-1 both running DireWolf 1.3.? ? ? Also checking, you're using the correct cable and jumper plug for the Signalink USB? If you got the cable and jumper plug from Tigertronics, it's probably a plug-and-play operation (note that you have to install the jumper plug inside the Signalink, unless it came from the factory with it installed, you have to figure that out yourself). With the correct cable, jumper plug and DireWolf UserGuide, it's pretty much plug-and-play. 1. Install "Alinco RJ-45" jumper plug in the Signalink. 2. Plug the Signalink cable into the radio and the Signalink. 3. Plug the Signalink USB into your Windows machine (wait for new device ??? config to complete). 4. See "9.1.2 Audio Device selection - Windows" for the rest. 73, Dana? K6JQ |

? Are you using the DireWolf UserGuide, too? :-) It's in the same download as DireWolf. Section "9.1.2 Audio Device selection - Windows" is surely what you want. I just plugged the Signalink USB in and ran DW 1.3.1 and it works like the documentation describes. Signalink uses VOX for PTT - note that if you turn the output level down too much on Windows, the VOX PTT won't activate, you probably need to run about 20% volume or so, possibly a bit higher, then set the audio level with the TX knob on the Signalink. For my configuration using 6-pin mini-DIN, the setting is rather low and I'm going to customize the Signalink config header with a 10:1 pad. 73, Dana? K6JQ

I can understand the issue with Linux, but I'm using Windows. Is it not supported either?
