¿ªÔÆÌåÓýRalph, I honestly do not know at the moment if the RELS is open source. There was certainly no copy-write information on the original code I worked with. I have requested an answer from someone who has been involved with the code for a good while. In the meantime you may wish to look at the information available on the CNC-Zone Forum The thread discusses the project and schematics and software are available to download. The project appears to be in version 7 and includes considerably more options than the modified code that I have worked with. As I am not involved in that group, if you have any questions they need to be directed there. The actual site involved is but you will need to brush up on your Russian! Yes the video you show is the original Russian but at a later issue. With regard to mounting the X drive consider yourself lucky to have those two tapped holes. I would scrape the paint away to show the hopefully machined face then repeat what John has discussed. I attach pics of my X mount in the course of build. Not as elegant? as Johns but it works. I really should pull it apart and machine away some excess and add some chamfers! I connected my X screw in a different way to John. I was concerned that the old X screw would swing around excessively so retained it via a bearing see DSC0158. The stub shaft from that locates with the "Oldham" coupling which connects to the stepper. I obviously drilled and tapped my fixing holes in the carriage after everything was lined up as you can see in the photos. After drilling and tapping and refitting it was doweled as in DSC0156. You need to design and make your mounting then drill some oversize holes for the two bolts bolt it up slack, tap for alignment, tighten bolts and pop in a couple of dowels. DSC0114 hopefully shows how I mounted my Z stepper off the "Banjo". The disk on the spindle is the "one pulse per rev" signal for when I had John Dammeyer's ELS. This has been changed to an 1800 pulse encoder to suit the RELS. Hopefully this helps Richard On 16/08/2020 17:26, Ralph Hulslander
