As I said I use a nano with some software "wot I rote". I will stick
it with the rest of the RELS stuff at some point.

Thanks Richard, so there isn't any RPM display
coming from the encoder directly.
Now I need a link to whatever?counts the pulses.?
I want to stick with known working devices.

That is an OLED display used to show the spindle rpm.
There is a one per rev pulse from the Mega which I look at
with a nano to drive the display.

Thanks Richard, that really helps to see
pictures. It would really help if someone would do a
video of using the RELS.
What is in that rectangle to the left of the LED?

You have it Ralph!
To help maybe see the pics of my control unit and
Joystick box.
The main control unit shows the four Left, Right,
Front, Rear buttons with the Select button to the
left and a reset button top right. The two 25 way D
connectors connect to the Joystick box and the main
Power and dries box.
On the Joystick box you can see the four "Limit"
buttons. The "Ring" around the centre of the button
illuminates. The Red button enables Rapid travel.
These boxes have been around for a while that is why
they are a little roughed up!

Just read the whole thing

The "limit" switches are virtual not actual limit
switches.
It actually makes sense. They are set for distance
travel limits not to prevent overtravel of the
leadscrew.
Ok moving on!
