Re: [Tech-VI] For Users of the Victor Reader Stream 3: Version 1.3 is now available!
Hi David ? Agreed and going on the huge number of posts on the victor group regarding the problems with audible sink and connecting different gadgets to audible when there is a far simpler way of getting those books and I must add that a lot of the books I read are from audible and are shared in various different ways, I can’t be hassled to try and connect my vr stream to audible, it is so easy to use open audible and just copy the books to my sd card. For some people things are over complicated, its great having the facilities on the devices to give me the choice but not when it can be broken so easily in an up-date or by audible themselves if they so choose. So many people want audible on their stream but it is too fiddly. Having it on our phones is easier because you can just log-in and away you go. Incidentally, I read my books on my stream or evo but not on my phones. ???? ? ?

Re: [Tech-VI] For Users of the Victor Reader Stream 3: Version 1.3 is now available!
Hi David
This is why I use OpenAudible or InAudible to download Audible books. Once they are downloaded and copied it does not matter what happens to Audible, because I have them in MP3 format.
I will not buy Kindle books any more as I cannot convert them to .txt files.

Re: [Tech-VI] For Users of the Victor Reader Stream 3: Version 1.3 is now available!
I agree David, and like all successful monopolies, or near
monopolies, there's no place else to go.? How I wish this sort of
licencing restrictive practice could be internatinally outlawed,
but that is like doing unpleasant things into the wind!
There has been some mention of on a few other lists too about the
book Pirate of the Airwaves by Roger Day with its ability to be
read on smart phones and the rest being disabled.? In my view that
should not be an option for authors or publishers.

Some users report having to close and restart the app to successfully complete this process. - Connect your Stream 3 to your computer and make sure it is turned on. Then find the option to activate device from within the Audible Sync app. With this new process it is the Stream itself rather than SD card which is activated.
- Then as I understand it you can download and transfer Audible Books to your connected Stream for playing. If it is like the VR 2 and additional Audible Bookshelf ?will appear on the Stream in offline mode.

Re: Webinar for 1.3 release
Hi Matthew ? I like the update, it has made a big difference and it definitely is much quicker at reading the sd card. ? What would be useful is a function where you can jump 10 or more books at a time if you have a lot of books on an sd card, I know you can go to book and give a number but another option would be useful. I like the vr stream 3, it can only but get better. Keep up the good work. ? When you have the stream in suspend mode, the shut down now function seems to crash a bit, not sure, I have only tried it a couple of times. The stream seems to freeze up. How do you cancel the shut down now if you want to cancel it? ? Regards
Adrien ? I am raising funds to buy my own wheelchair, I have to do this because of changes to NHS services local to me. If you can help me by donating or spreading the word, please feel free. Many thanks. ?

Re: [Tech-VI] For Users of the Victor Reader Stream 3: Version 1.3 is now available!
Highway, you can access calibre Andy rnib library with synaptic. I've got both libraries on my phone. So don't need the dolphin easy reader. As it's more difficult to use. Best Mrs Villa

Dear Ray I will not be personally using the Audible feature but as I understand it. - Download Audible Sync to your computer from
Install Audible Sync and log in with your Audible credentials. Some users report having to close and restart the app to successfully complete this process. - Connect your Stream 3 to your computer and make sure it is turned on. Then find the option to activate device from within the Audible Sync app. With this new process it is the Stream itself rather than SD card which is activated.

Re: [Tech-VI] For Users of the Victor Reader Stream 3: Version 1.3 is now available!
To be honest, EasyReader on your phone is the best way to get RNIB books. You can literally search from the phone and download it. I’m personally done with specialist players. ? All the best Steve
