FW: Tech Talk 450: Emporia, Mobile Payments, Dolphin Computer Access
For me the guy from Emporia presents a much needed corrective and reminder to some who insist that using touch screens is doable and easy for everyone.? the rest of this podcast is worth a listen as well.
Also, included in the latest Mosen at Large podcast is a discussion with Brian Hartgen where Brian gives his views on the latest HIMS player.? Again Brian, of all people, uses a VR Stream for listening to talking books for much the same reasons as I do. Brian of course is up there with the most accomplished tech guys and indeed I know others ahead of me who in spite of the cost of the VR Stream and other players still find them a good addition to using a smart phone for everything. Check out the latest Mosen podcast at: Ray. This week we’re hearing from Chris Millington, CEO of Emporia, about their range of accessible smart phones and tablets. RNIB Tech For Life’s Colin Shales drops by to explain options for making mobile payments work for you, and Dave Williams hears the latest from Dolphin Computer Access. You can listen to it at |

As I've said before it is not so much whether the battery is replaceable or not but how much it is going to cost to get it replaced including postage and packing. Ray. On 19/02/2023 08:41 am, Pele West wrote:

开云体育Hi Ed ? I have been following most of the discussions on the new stream on both lists, the traffic has been really high. Most of us have more than one device we can play books on, phone, tablet, evo10 streams and milestone etc in my case, I only have the streams which have replaceable batteries, the rest have fixed batteries, if my phone goes wrong then for me that is a bigger problem, because I don’t have a second phone, that would be a bigger issue to me. Not having my stream for a week or so wouldn’t be a problem as there is an alternative. I know from experience humanware uk are very quick at sending devices back often from my experience 3 days total turn around, I don’t think that is the case in the states. I think it depends on what you use the devices for. I won’t be getting the new stream straight away as I will wait until some of the bugs have been sorted out. ? ? Regards Adrien ? If the price turns out to be even higher then factoring in total price of ownership over over say 3 - 4 years might weigh with some potential buyers. ? More important to me is going to be if Humanware have come up with a solution to accessing BBC Sounds radio streams scemelessly, or is it going to be another case of the Beeb going out of its way to alienate even more listners? ? 开云体育Hi Claire, ? I guessed there would be. ? So, basically, you would need a volunteer perhaps to set up an Alexa or Google device in the home, just once, then perhaps an hour’s training to teach the client what to say. ?
