IC-9700 won't transmit in D-Rats
I can't get my IC-9700 to transmit when connected to D-Rats. I have tried both comm ports listed for the radio. Works just fine with Winlink using the "A" comm port. I have double checked the menu settings in the radio and all seems OK. All of the charts for radio setup in the videos only list as far as the ID-51. they were all produced before the 9700 was introduced. What am I missing?

Can you supply screenshots of your main screen, and of settings? Would it help to use a screen sharing program? Does your data cable go directly from the radio to the computers USB port or going to an rs242 adapter to USB? What os you running? 开云体育Edfel, Go to icom.japan.com. Click on the firmware/software icon. Enter IC-9700 in the oval and it will bring up a list of firmware/software. Download and install the USB Driver file that is for multiple radios. It will install 2 Silicon Labs virtual comm ports. Important, you must have your radio connected to the computer with a USB cable in order for these ports to show up in your device manager! Usually, port "A" is the first one listed (lower number). You can check by bringing up device manager, double click on "Ports", then right click on the comm port you want to check. Select properties and then click on details. In the details window you need to change "Property" from "Device Description" to "Device instance path". At the end of the value it will show either an "A" or a "B". I hope this helps. Back in the days when people actually used rs-232, we had a hardware device, some called it a xmas tree.? It had a bunch of LEDS that would light up showing the various status lines of the connection and when data passed, lights would flash.? Of course, we could always use an oscilloscope. Glad you got it figured out -? Jim

开云体育Edfel, I use the default 9600 baud for D-Rats. There are 4 digital simplex frequencies that are listed for D-Star. 145.600, 145.670. 441.000 and 445.670. You can use any simplex frequency that is designated for digital use as far as I know ( I don't know what the rules are in Puerto Rico ). Also, you may use any D-Star repeater for data. BTW, you can do voice and data at the same time, we have tested it and it works! 73, Doug On 9/12/2023 20:16, Edfel Rivera wrote:
