HI Glenn et Als. I jumped this morning to NOIP. It seems that the account was created succesfully. I m not using the rpi right now run some test, just in case I ve done something wrong on the static ip address on the pi.?
I'll leave this? link here just in case some else is following this topic, now or in the future. I ll also shar this link on how to set up an static ip on RPI which takes another way form that shared by Ron N7BU on the pdf that is on files on this group.io.?
I downloaded the PC version of NOIP DCU on the laptop and it was really easy. I also created a hostname np3jd.ddns.net
SO far?
1. laptop is running on static ip
2. router has been set up a per the video that I previously shared on this topic : Tha includes
(a).creating a port forward with the static ip addres of the pc? under virtual server and
(b)adding the NOIP account under DDNS on the router with NOIP NP3JD user name; ddns.net server
3. I installed the DCU software on the laptop and is on and running.
4. The noip account shows that the hostname is: (a) active, (b)with the pc ip address (c)Type A hostname
BUT jajaja the Router shows under DDNS that there is an acces error. I guess I ll have to wait 24 hours or something to see if the host name is active
