Crestron Home OS3 and IP Control of 4K Genies

 

Hi All,

With the 05/18/2020, Crestron added IP Control of the 4k Genie.? ?From everything I know the only device that has a IP address that can be accessed is the IP address of the Genie Server (In this case a Genie 2), but the Home OS3 setup wants an IP address of each Genie Client.? ?I want to add 4 C61K (4k Mini Genie Client).? ?Is there a way to give each client an IP address that I am missing.? ?

Each Genie client pulls a DHCP address from your router through the MoCA interface on the main Genie DVR. You can set a DHCP reservation in the router for each client and then use each IP for Genie client control.?

I have made sure each 4K Genie Mini has an IP address using a DHCP reservation.? ?That said, I still cannot connect.? Crestron says on the receiver go to Settings>WholeHome>ExternalDevice>Set External Control to Allow.? ?I do not find that option.? ? Any ideas?

Those settings are on the DirecTV server box if you have not found them yet

I can find the WholeHome> External Device, but it does not show the External Control Option under external Device.

I am not sure what happened to my reply.? ?I am seeing the exact same thing as you, but Home OS3 is telling me I need to enable the External Control option.? ?Do you see that anywhere?
