Phone Calls with TSW panels
Has anyone ever set up one of the TSW panels to be able to place phone calls?? The scenario currently has a cloud based SIP server (voip.ms) and I was wondering if we could use that server to place phone calls directly from the TSW.? I have tried to put it into server mode and then provide the credentials for the voip.ms account but it never does register.? Has anyone pulled this off?? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I have a 1050 and a 1060 panel at my house that are configured as VOIP extensions on my 3CX IPPBX. I have setup buttons to call family mobile numbers. It works fine from both panels.?
It did take me some time to work out how to get the panels to successfully register with the 3 CX SIP server, but once that was sorted it works fine. |

开云体育I?ve experimented with a TSW-1050 and TSW-760 to connect to my freePBX SIP-server. I got it working but it?s not in production yet. I can have a look into the SIP config. Of the TSWs and share. In general, the register details can vary a lot depending on the backend SIP server. ? Cheers, Thorsten ? Von: [email protected] <[email protected]> Im Auftrag von nick_masterson_uk ? 开云体育I’m running Asterisk at home and for the company (using Flowroute for PSTN interconnect). ? In the office all of the TSWs have non-DIDable extensions assigned and we’ve definitely “played with” panels on the Asterisk cluster successfully but I don’t believe any are currently associated with that cluster ? Similarly at home in the past I’ve put my TSWs on my local Asterisk instance (and at one point assigned them a 888# as a DID just for the novelty of it) but have never actually used it for anything practical – partially because of locations of TSWs relative to where I’d want to make a phone call (TSWs in those locations also have a real Cisco phone within arm’s reach anyways….) ? All that said once you get them registered with the PBX I’ve never seen any issues. -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]

开云体育To elaborate on my previous post to answer the questions, our Asterisk cluster lives in our two data center/colocation ?facilities (Cleveland and Atlanta) so all of the touchpanels reaching out to those are not, strictly speaking, local but going across site to site VPNs (My home Asterisk deployment lives on a repurposed Autonomic something in my garage, but talks to phones in our DC apartment via more site to site VPNs) ? Going directly to a 3rd party source will largely depend on the codec and registration/authentication requirements of the 3rd party and if the TSWs overlap. Some cloud providers are basically just standard SIP endpoints and will take almost anything while others are very particular about how they want you to authenticate and which audio CODECs they will support. ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ? So it sounds like the only scenario that has been successful has been to have a local SIP server.? I have all my phones going directly to voip.ms and haven't been using my raspbeery pi (with FreePBX) for a long time.? Has anyone gone directly to the source (i.e. voip.ms)? |
Roger that, thank you so much for the info.? I will look a little deeper into the requirements at voip.ms.

yes i have done it i had issues getting it to register as well. i dont have it near me right now but if i can look at the config screen in the webui (or maybe it was on the tsw screen) it would probably jog my memory, i think it might be that cisco setting or it didnt like registering on the cisco system.. a screen shot might help me remember.

Sure, this is the listing of my current sipinfo:

I have also done with the multiple TSW panels. Although right now I have them configured to use Freepbx which has voip.ms setup as the trunk. You can for sure link directly to voip.ms. One thing I think you need to do is set your local extension to the same name as your subaccount username use command SIPLOCALEXT.? If you use the command SIPSTATE you can see that it will try and use that in the registration:?sip:xxxxxx_8@...:5060;transport=UDP> I just tried it on mine and it will not make the connection if you have it set to something different that what is on Voip.MS. ? ? |
Actually it does and thank you so much.? So this is my current scenario.? I changed it to the subaccount and then got on the horn with voip.ms.? They were able to see it attempt connection but when their servers issued the challenge, the TSW would not respond, essentially not sending through the login and password.? Any suggestions?

Np at all. You can also use the main account as well but I was not sure if you already were using that and I think you can have multiple registrations but VOIP.MS does not recommend it. If you issue the SIPSTATE command what is the output showing? That's where I would start. What panel are you using as well? Is it 5x series or 6x? (not that is should matter but maybe a firmware update might help) I just tested this on a 760. Also if you make a change issue SIPRESTART to apply the change.?

Yup 401 indicates authentication issue. is this sub account already working on another device? I would verify the user/pass with something like linphone (software client) so that you can confirm it's the correct pass. Also for testing you could setup a new sub account for testing. Usually for these issues it always came down to the user pass not being correct on my end. Using linphone or xlite I can always verify if those details are correct to narrow in on the issue. Just for testing as well I would remove the realm I didn't need it to authenticate to voip.ms.

开云体育Roger that.? As is indicated by the login name, this is actually an active account on an iPad (I use Bria Mobile and I just checked and it can connect just fine).? Figured you were using on an iPad :) So at least the user/pass is fine, so that's good. Do you have another panel that you can test on? I wonder if it's just this one that could be an issue. If you can restore/initialize on that panel and or firmware update then apply minimum settings. If you don't have another to test with as well if you wanted to setup a test sub account temporarily I could also test with mine to see if it's authenticating as well. Now that we know the user/pass details are good then it's really down to device issue.?
