Here is the support page for the MMS-2A.



Go to the Support tab and you can download the protocol and an example program.

You don't have to use Media Player Object.? Instead you have build your own interface as shown in the example program (at least it used to be that way).

The MMS-1e is pretty much the same as the MMS-2A except it is one zone instead of two.? Same module controls both.? I've only used the MMS-2A and the newer MMS-3E.? So I have no real world experience with the MMS-1e.

Per the spec table, the MMS-2A supports Tidal.? The MMS-1e is a newer model so it is more likely to support newer streaming services.

1)????? Does the MMS-2A support Tidal with the latest firmware and would I be able to update the firmware if I bought one on Ebay?? If it does are there any other benefits to getting the MMS-1e over the 2A as the 2A seems to be cheaper on Ebay.

2)????? Is there a publicly available Crestron Control Module or does anybody have an IR file that I could get to control either device?? I didn’t see anything in the files section of this group.

3)? Am I better off considering something else such as BlueSound?

The version Lincoln has is probably the older MMS-2 (no A).?

One of the big complains I have about the media streamers today is the
general lack of a video gui that you can display on a TV and control
with a simple remote.? So when I saw the MMS-5a has the feature to
select music via the on screen display, you got my interest.? The MMS-2A
and MMS-3e almost certainly does not support IR as there is no IR window
on the front of and all metal front panel.? It is likely the MMS-1e does
not support IR either just looking at the pictures.

But don't get your hopes up too high about the IR remote on the MMS-5A.?

Thanks for all the help.? I decided to buy an MMS-2a off Ebay and also a spare QM-RMC (can't believe how cheap the old stuff has become).?

I figure I can load the demo program onto the QM-RMC and figure out how everything works as a standalone with the Xpanel before trying to incorporate it into my existing program.? I'm sure I'll be back with a few questions once I get everything.?

So I got the player and have the sample program running on the QM-RMC.? It appears that the MMS-2A is connecting but then something is breaking in the process.? I've pasted a link to the Simpl Debugger log below.? It says that MSAS not running and then Instance Match for Player_A not found.? When I run the xPanel nothing populates.? I can control the MMS-2A via the web IP address for the media server so that is working.? I'm simply using the sample program from Autonomic loaded onto the control system and then their xPanel file so it is really strange that I'm having the issue.

Please let me know if you have any thoughts to what I seem to be missing here.? Thanks!
