crestron Event Scheduler 2 v1.2.0 filename path problem...
Hi
I am trying to use the Event scheduler 2 v1.2.0 in my simpl program, the processor is a DIN-AP2, I want to use the internal flash memory ( not the CF card ) and I have a problem to enter the correct filename and path .... I use a serial send to fill the serial input of my Crestron scheduler filename input, but probably I've done something wrong in the way to write it in my serial send... trough the toolbox file manager I see the Internal flash with all the folders, as far I know the Internal flash have to be named : NVRAM so my filename string was : \\NVRAM\scheduler.dat and this is not working I've got an aerror from simpl debugger ERROR : cannot create/open file \NVRAM\scheduler.dat for write - Error code : 3004 any help would be great thank you :) Eric |
iPad retina display with crestron mobile G
I am curious if anybody here had a chance to play with the newest iPad and crestron mobile...
The new iPad has greater resolution, and after reading on the internet that some electronic magazines which publish for ipad had some issues with publications not rendering right on the new iPad made me think immediately of the crestron app. Anybody with a new iPad out there? Thanks! Fabio |
Re: Android Tablet: Can I Use Crestron Mobile?
Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I get the whole resolution thing. I just wanted to be sure the process was the same i.e. I could load the xml/manifest into the processor HTML like I already have 1 of the iPads, and he (pretty tech savvy) could enter the proper parameters in the Android app (LAN, Ports, Project Name, Password, etc.)

Oh, your right Tony. When I originally tested it on my phone when it first came out, I was using the free version which doesn't support those effects. I haven't really messed with the paid version. My bad.

Re: Trying to migrate away from D3 for lighting.
I have found that D3 Pro can do everything I've needed to in lighting projects. The key is to build a project-specific logic and/or device module to handle the custom stuff. Maybe a separate DIN-AP2 with an RSD if it's really hairy.

For one, making dynamic labels for buttons on a touch-panel. I.E. I change preset 1 to be dinner mode, now relabel the button to be "dinner" adding in a function to allow the user to change the system time from the touch-panel is a fight trying to make a Simpl+ module to be D3 ready, Anything advanced at all takes at least 10X more time in D3.

And then how glacier slow it is to use. Granted I only have a quad core 3ghz i7 laptop and nothing like a modern fast computer, but the sheer amount of time it takes to do anything in a touch-panel design is amazing. Yes I know vtPro is slow as is, but when used inside D3 it's 4X slower. Daylight harvesting is also a lot harder to do in D3. Most anything I have tried to do in regards to LEEDS certification and daylight harvesting that is the most effective is completely missing in D3. --- In Crestron@..., Nathan Hesson <nhesson@...> wrote:

I am also curious about what shortcomings you've found D3 to have.

Mac running virtual and certain keys quit working
Ok got an iMac although my MacBook Pro has done this to me as well in the past and I'm pretty sure I was running Snow Leopard and XP in VMWare on them both. Now both are Lion, Parallels and XP. In Simpl when you go to type on a symbol's line both the enter keys stop functioning along with some other ones that make it a real PITA to work, I think a reboot fixes it but it will start acting up again. I ran across a fix that was stupid easy and should have bookmarked it, I think it had to do with Caps lock or something that the press got registered but the release didn't and something get's it corrected and synced up again but I have forgot what. It may have had something to do with Multi Monitor as well, got 2 extra displays attached to the iMac figured it might be useful info to throw in. If anyone knows the fix for this, please remind me or if more info is needed let me know.
Thanks Jason |
Re: Android Tablet: Can I Use Crestron Mobile?
It's pretty much the same if the tablet is the same rez. If not(as in the case with my phone), the app scales. Although you could end up with buttons that are too small(as in the case with my phone). VTPro is kind of flaky changing page sizes in mobile for phones/tablets.

Also, they don't seem to be able to do the page flip effects as discussed in a previous thread. --- In Crestron@..., "markcrestrongroup" <mark@...> wrote:

Yes you can use the Crestron App on an Android, only issue you might run into is the screen resolution between iPad and Android. Pete --- In Crestron@..., "markcrestrongroup" <mark@...> wrote:

Android Tablet: Can I Use Crestron Mobile?
Sorry, but I'm still not clear.
I have a client with an iPad, currently setup and working fine with Crestron Mobile. He wants to add an Android tablet. I have done projects fine with 2 or more iPads...can I simply add this Android tablet in as another "iPad" (as far as SIMPL and VtPro-e go?...it's not "iPad", but "Mobile"...) I saw R2 and would like to try at some point, but would like to wrap up a working Android today if I can using what I already have, just adding in another "iPad" to my programming and having him get the $99 Crestron Mobile App for Android on his tablet. I already told him to go to Android Market and get the app...:0 Thanks Mark |

Learnable presets are pretty straight forward unless they want to be able
to add and remove loads. I'm curious what situations you have come across that you find D3 isn't the best solution? Mark On Fri, Mar 30, 2012 at 9:35 AM, Tim <timgray.geo@...> wrote: ** [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

Re: How do you locate the projects folder in Simpl Windows?
The project folder is the folder where the actual .smw file resides.
