Gerard, my response is not Crestron related but might be good solution if cost is a factor. If you already have a streaming server, I use Wirecast (Telestream) to record and stream at the same time.

Many (most) of the touchpanels are really wonky with the TESTDNS function -- either it's not implemented, or it's such a buggy implementation that it's not usable. But that doesn't mean DNS looksups

I believe that the panel connection would be impacted more than the EISC. Touchpanels (and other crestron devices) use additional packet types and protocols not needed for intersystem communications.
