Re: OT: RG59 as speaker wire??
I have female F to tinned pair for sale. Originally intended for touch

When I ping the port while the display is off there is no response. There must be some way to keep it active while the display is off. Re: EISC or touchpanel over WAN
I have connected my PRO2 at come with a PRO2 at my workpace over EISC in order to do some monitoring on my home system at work, it worked flawlessly, just have to open the right ports on each side.

D3/SystemBuilder rant/request for help
Am I the only one that finds going from Simpl/Simpl+ back to D3/SB
challenging? I've never taken any classes, but I didn't for LiteTouch or Vantage either. Is there a guide, PDF, or training video I can watch? I've got a DIN-IO8 for garage door contacts. I've got an IO8 in the program, but where do I program the buttons? What's the D3 equivalent for an One ShotMomentary button? Why is D3 telling me I can't upload the program because "there's no compact flash to load runtime/Xpanel browser data to". The program is 42K right now, and there's no Xpanel interfaces. It uploads fine in Toolbox. Chris |
Prowl for Crestron 3 Series is posted!
Just FYI. Andrew Culver was nice enough to post a SIMPL# module on github to show this working. I spent a few hours testing his module, expanding it and writing a help file. No knowledge of SIMPL# is required to make this work, so no fear! The module is small and easy to use.
Go to and follow the directions. You'll be pushing notifications to any app at in no time. Let me know if you have any questions! Michael Block |

Re: OT: RG59 as speaker wire??
The amp is an AAE.

Originally this location was a TV, using DM for distribution. Two CAT5 and a Penta (5x mini-RG59) were pulled to the location. Now the client wants "better" sound and has requested a sound bar. I was thinking of using a RMC-200 with the amp, but that seems a tough upsell with 6 TVs in the same situation... Argh, take-over jobs, the bane of my existence. --- In Crestron@..., Trey Chamrad <trey@...> wrote:

DSI Tridonic LuxControl
code_radio
Hello Group,
I would like you all to cast your minds back to an old lighting system with a protocol called DSI. I have been trying to find out information about this protocol, but have only found out that it uses encoding known as 'Manchester Encoding'. I have tried to send strings to the interface using rs232 and this type of encoding but have not been successful. The interface is: Tridonic DSI 011 LuxControl (for dimming of Tridonic power control) If there is any information that anyone can give me about this device I would be very greatful. This equipment is very old and is pre DALI. Thanks in advance. Regards J |
Re: OT: RG59 as speaker wire??
You can always use this:
(RG-59, 262ft) with a POE amplifier and an IP streamer. It'd be expensive, but if you truly can't get a wire there, you can do a local amp. As for speaker wire directly on RG-59, I think it'd work at lower volumes, but it will probably force the amp into a protect mode at high volumes. Paul Cunningham
I don't think I've used RG59, but I've definitely used (against my will) Cat5 as RCA audio cable and speaker wire. But according to the "high-end cable = snake oil" crowd, copper is copper amirite? X-)

Re: Samsung ME55B IP Control Issue
There is info on this board about using the Wake on LAN feature on these TVs. I've got it working here at my shop. Use WoL to turn the display on, then you can go from there. Works well.

I'm waiting for a callback from their tech support as to whether they or Crestron is working on a module. Or have you guys already found out the answer? For those of you with experience with the SP2, any words of wisdom on the control/setup/use of the unit? TIA -----Original Message-----
