Re: IC Realtime NVR
It's very inconsistent. At some sites it works great, but others not so much. For troublesome projects, I've resorted to specifying a separate video encoder connected to the NVR, so the touchpanels only have to deal with a single stream or jpeg. It also allows the security installer to do whatever they want with the NVR and camera settings, without any special considerations for the Crestron panels and apps.

Although some NVR and camera brands are worse than others, I don't know of any I'd consider fool-proof, so a separate encoder greatly simplifies things and increases the likelihood of success. There are lots of similar encoders available, but I've used this one the most - . Dealers and salespeople are often stubborn and don't want to add another "box" (that wasn't their idea) to the system, even at such a ridiculously low price, so I usually include the following statement: "Camera Integration only includes X amount of time to troubleshoot streaming issues. Additional troubleshooting and experimentation time will be billable". That typically prompts them to do things the easy way... :-) --- On Friday, October 13, 2023 at 10:05 AM, johnh wrote: |

The only issue I have had with ex link, is one way serial on 3 series processors.FTR, My problem experience was using a DM RMC serial port (2-way) vs. a processor port. This site in question has all older Sammy's controlled with the same port without issue. I've also used the 1-way control via IR ports in the past without issue... Stefuel2, Please keep us posted about your experience as I would love to know that EX-link is reliable again!! |

? ? ? ? HYDROGENENABLE: OFF? It's showing hydrogenmanager is enabled, but also hydrogenenable is set to OFF. Don't these two things conflict with each other, or am I reading this wrong? |

FYI, I've been a beta-tester for Android OS, Google Maps, Waze, Android Auto, and a few others, in case Crestron wants to be added to that list... :-) --- On Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 4:05 PM, Dave H wrote: |

Re: Samsung EX-link protocol???
One question that was asked by the OP that hasn't been answered is "Looking for a replacement 65 inch one if anyone has a recommendation".? There are people here with much more experience than I have in today's TVs.? But I'll throw out my $.02 because I recently looked into new TV models for a friend.

I've been an LG OLED fan and have owned one for quite a number of years.? However, when a friend asked for a TV recommendation I did some research for him.? The TV I found, and it happens to be a Samsung, that I would seriously consider if my LG crapped out is a Samsung S90C.? Lots of articles on how good a picture this TV has. As I said, others deal with new TV installs on almost a daily basis.? But, that is simply what my research revealed. Hope this helps Jay On 10/12/2023 5:51 PM, Eric Luckart wrote:

Re: Samsung EX-link protocol???
I standardized on Samsung using EX-Link from ~ 2008 to 2017 and it was Bullitt proof!? (Thanks to Chip Moody for great info way back in the day!)
I did an addition for an existing client with all Samsung/Ex-link panels and the new one had major issues, particularly (stop me if you've heard this) the Turn-On...:( I spent a lot of time messing with it (reviewing with Brawn Consulting, etc.) even though the site was 3.5 hours away from our office and finally gave up and went to IR control. They said it was going to be fixed in a FW update (stop me if you've heard this)?but after a year of checking no one could confirm... for this and other Samsung issues, we've moved away from them to Sony. For my dealer/clients that still use Samsungs, we just use IR now... I would love to hear that they have made it solid again, but I'm not sure that I trust them... |

Cisco CBS350 w/ NVX
Pulling my hair out trying to configure this switch.? The web interface identifies it as a SG350-28 although the box shoes CBS350.
I have current f/w on it and NVX devices.? Followed Crestron guide.? Spoke to TB.? No success.? When I add a 2nd encoder it kills the NVX system. If anyone is willing to share a config file for the switch I'd much appreciate it.? |

Re: Samsung EX-link protocol???
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI was looking at Samsung RS232 control today. Did some googling. Found nothing new. I will be installing 10 monitors next month so I hope there has been no change. ? I found a Samsung document about multimonitor control. It said to limit distance between devices to 4 meters. Anyone else know about this? ? ?
