I agree with Steve. I would definitely prefer real Cresnet, but in your situation I wouldn't hesitate to use the CAT, esp. with Keypads. I did a retro project 12+ years ago where I had (10) TPS-6L

I have had mixed results with Cat5 or Cat6. Too much time trouble shooting. I have given up on Cat wire. I have started to use EX dimmers and keypads, using the Cat wire to 60v dc power to keypads.
