Re: Let's try to cut Crestron some Slack
...and once again, I'm neglecting to say: Crestron is working on it. It's slow and frustrating and often makes me question why anyone wants to be in this business, but it is getting attention - from

Atlona 4x2 switcher ir control
I just finished the first week of classes for Crestron 101, got excited about a project, and of course failed miserably. Fortunately, this is a project I am doing myself, rather then for money. I am

Thanks Neil ;-) If anything, everyone should be tall like me. It would make it easier to find pants.

Re: O Lifesize....How I Hate thy....
They work fine for me, I do know that a call has to be established to work though. If you wanted to just do a presentation through hte lifesize with no call you would need to change the primary input.

Re: Let's try to cut Crestron some Slack
Also Heath, I hope you don't mind me making an example here, but you're the best example I can think of where a programmer has HELPED the Crestron engineers make Core3UI better. You were the first one

Re: Let's try to cut Crestron some Slack
I agree absolutely Nathan. The tools need improvement and refining, but they do work in their current state. I'm anxiously awaiting the day when I don't have to deal with little glitches anymore but

Re: Let's try to cut Crestron some Slack
I'll pick one thing to comment on. Seems to me that the biggest issue is that it isn't reliable, and doesn't run all that nicely - either Core 3 or the new panels. I appreciate that there is a

Re: Let's try to cut Crestron some Slack
I have had the luxury of dealing with purely large scale commercial clients where iPads are extremely rare. In my own system at home though, I just kept my old iPad GUI for the time being until I can

Re: Let's try to cut Crestron some Slack
I think that's a very valid point Neil. There is a mindset of people not wanting to try new Crestron software until they are forced to. Honestly, I can't blame them too much, I've had my own

Re: Let's try to cut Crestron some Slack
I am curious Neil. What do you do about the IPADS in the system? Did you match the graphics to look like smart objects? None of my jobs are just panels only, all includes IPADS, remotes etc.

Re: Let's try to cut Crestron some Slack
I have to take issue with many of these statements.... (DISCLAIMER: This is not personally directed at anyone, including Pat who is a good guy I met at Masters this year) I do agree that Crestron's

These comparisons were in no way apples to apples. I think both had there flaws but what i did find interesting is in the Extron demo, hdmi da's were used with EDID minders. Did extron need this to

Re: TPCS-4SMD & C2N-IO Anyone?
We're testing a similar setup in five new classrooms. In addition to the TPCS and C2N-IO, we're using a DM-TX-401-C and a DM-RMC-Scaler. We're also looking at expanding the HDMI ports available by

I really don't know why Crestron continues to prod Extron. They have obviously taken over the entire market already. I really welcome the Extron product (if they ever get it completely out) as well as
