Re: Kaleidescape CoStar with NVX . . .

Do you have the M500 set to a specific resolution?

What happens if you connect the m500 direct to the 363?

If all else fails, maybe a small Amazon HDMI splitter will fix your issue.

Re: Adagio AES

I have never used the OOTBF on one of these. I do know when I have programmed them in simpl it would break most of the out of the box programming.
I wonder if you updated or resent the firmware if it would copy in the OOTBF stuff.

Adagio AES

OK, so it's old and retired like me but I am enjoying working with it and hopefully one of you will still remember these things......
This one seems to have an issue running OOTBF code in that most front panel messages when in installer tools mode seem to be missing. Example being when selecting set number of rooms, the display goes blank. Other options only produce action buttons at the bottom with no text on the screen. This one is new to me, I have never seen this issue before with these so was wondering if anyone has any idea how these messages seem to have gone missing. The usual resets such as Initialize, Reboot, Etc have ne effect on the issue. -Don

Re: Kaleidescape CoStar with NVX . . .

Hi,

?

just to get your setup right:

You?ve got a Co-Star and have a that M500 connected to one of the Co-Star inputs? Then the Co-Star output is connected to the NVX input?

I guess you have Strato connected to the second input of the Co-Star switch?

?

Actually, the Co-Star switch should do the EDID handling, so there shouldn?t be any issues.

?

Cheers,

Thorsten

Anybody do one of these? ?The M500 player seems to get a EDID error when it tries to play. ?I have tried many EDID settings on NVX input, on DM Default right now as TB says that one usually works with anything.

Sure, I should just throw in another 363 (cause they are so inexpensive ....) but I am looking to see if there is a solution someone figured out that doesn't cost 1500 bucks.

TIA

You might also try asking on the Crestron Facebook group (I don't use it but I hear its great) or the Crestron Discord...

Re: Looking for programmer David Perez

Hello-
I was faced with a similar situation because I wasn't provided any VTProE files. Fortunately I was able to extract the .vtz from the touch panel and reconstruct the interface from the project document, with some modifications because I had the SIMPL programming. Not the ideal way because it's a lot of work, but that may be your best option if no one can locate DP.

Programing audio selection with a DM-TX-200-C-2G

Greetings,
I'm trying to build a selectable work around for instances when a Mac won't send audio along with HDMI but has a 3.5mm jack. I've successfully done this with a DMPS3-4K-150, but cannot do anything with the DM transmitter. I have tried things like a toggle output initializing 2d for the audio input, but no matter what I come up with, the 3.5mm audio never works unless HDMI is disconnected. My reading of the help file indicates you can grab digital (1d) or analog (2d) audio, or (0d) for auto search, but in practice I find it doesn't work. In fact, it behaves as if it's always set to 0d. Please give me some direction, or point out the obvious, but I am at a brick wall.

Thanks!

Dan

Thanks.? As I said, I don't really have an issue with the modules.? Over the years, I've simply seen other people complain at creating an exact duplicate of the ELK keypad on a TP to be an issue for them.? For example, if I remember correctly the original ELK demo program uses a second page to provide buttons for bypassing zones vs. having a bypass button on the keypad.? Personally, I think the second page of buttons, which can each be labeled with the zone name, to be a better solution.

Thanks again

Jay

@Erick Swihart

Oh my god, I've been searching for this info for years! Thanks! This is great for me because on remote access PCs, I'll make the shortcuts once and no matter how many times I recompile the damn VTZ, the shortcut will still work.?

Where did you find this or where is it documented??

For anyone here looking for doing the permanent Environment.xml edit, if you install 7-zip, you can use the Right-Click context menu to open the VTZ as archive, then browse to the XML. Right click it, and Edit. It will open the file in notepad, and you can edit there. When you're done, SAVE and then close, and 7-zip will prompt you to save the edited file back to the zip. This is a bit faster than manually extracting/renaming/editing/repacking.

In D3 go to other devices. Right click a room and add remote system export. Select whatever version you like to use. Double click the new remote system and select what you want to export, make sure you select I/O and set the ipid and address of reboot processor.

D3 virtual keypad exports with 4 AV Processors

Anyone know what the best setup for this would be? I have a cp3 running a D3 program on a large multi house project. i want the cp3 to run the lighting on the whole property, but i have 4 more processors running at different locations and need them all to talk to the D3 on the cp3. I use the EISC to talk to one but don't see a way to duplicate that in D3 so i could have one virtual keypad export for each processor? It seems i must be missing something,?

Re: Savant 2N with Crestron

Here's an idea...how about no custom versions...just make one version that actually works!!

Think if instead of spending all the time that we spend trying to make things work that have not been fully baked or otherwise,
we spent all that time selling and integrating things that work, how much more we all AND the manufacturers would be making,...
AND AND how much more satisfied our clients would be...? ?And maybe also we could go home at night...:)

Re: Savant 2N with Crestron

I can confirm having also tried this with a C4 version that it did not seem to call using rava:CRESTRON as the number, and the Crestron section under Services>Phone>Calls was still missing after flashing with the latest 2N firmware. This is despite Crestron telling me that flashing with the stick firmware would work. I think I also tried 'Reset Configuration' back to factory defaults, but it made no difference. Would love to know if anyone knows how to low-level flash these things so that we could use them in takeovers.

Interestingly, I noted that the C4 version of the firmware seems to include all the "automation" features, and RTSP, out of the box, so effectively requires no additional licences. This, coupled with the info that these are apparently cheaper than the 2N official version makes me miffed as to why as Crestron dealers we can't get "Crestron" branded versions of the 2N IP Verso and Solo, in the same way that C4 and Savant dealers can get "custom" versions for their platforms.

Re: Samsung CCD IP Control not powering back on.

Yes, that?s exactly what i?m doing with LG TVs. I?m using a self-made WoL-SIMPL+ module, but it?s just doing what you desscibe: send magic packet followed by 16 times the MAC of the device.

Works reliable.

FWIW I had the same issue using the LG CCD on one particular site. I don't know why Crestron can't just fix the CCD's for Samsung and LG considering how popular their TVs are, rather than just telling us to recommend SONY TVs.

Anyway:
Add a 'UDP/IP Communications' device (Configure view > Crestron Devices > Ethernet Control Modules > Ethernet Intersystem/Device Communication > UDP/IP Communications)
Configure the device so that the 'Default Address' is the broadcast IP address for your subnet (so for example if your subnet is 192.168.1.x/24 then the broadcast address is 192.168.1.255)
Set the 'Port' module parameter?to 9d (Port 9 is the default port used for WoL)
Feed the TX$ input with the WoL packet as a string whenever you want to turn on the TV - The WoL packet is simply the magic packet (0xFF0xFF0xFF0xFF0xFF0xFF) followed by 16 copies of the TVs MAC address.
I use a Simpl+ module originally by Ryan Blajda, to simplify creation of this WoL packet.

If you look in the files section of this group, you'll see there's a file called?WakeOnLAN v1.0.zip which is probably the easiest way to go as it is appears to be an all-in-one solution, but I haven't used it myself.
