Re: DSC PowerSeries Neo

That's good news, assuming the new modules are at least as robust as the old ones - and they're not "Crestron Home only" :-)

works. The new EZ alarm panel theres no integration for it yet that
I know of.

Well, they are restricted - that?s the reason why they are cheaper. You get what you pay for.

Not possible. We had this same situation this past year as our sales guys ordered them thru Savant because they were a bit cheaper. Well after many calls with tech support I was told you cannot flash them to the Crestron firmware they are stuck on Savant. Of course it seems like BS as we all know it really shoulld be possible, but support says they dont offer a way to do it.?

My programmer Gary Miller is more familiar with the issue. He should see this and respond.?

TSW-770 slow SIP

I'm having an odd issue on site.
SIP calls are taking a very long time to connect.
This is a corporate SIP system and most of the information about it is not available to me.
The client has provided an Excel sheet with all the extensions, usernames & passwords.

Each panel is set up with similar credentials as follows (user & passwords are just for info only in this instance):
SIPMODE server
SIPAUDIOMODE fd?
SIPLOCALEXT 1234
SIPSRVIPADDRESS 192.168.XXX.XXX
SIPSRVUSER 1234
SIPSRVPASS 1234567890

The call GUI dialog subpage is driven directly off the VOIP extender on the touchpanel instance in simpl through an OR with the following:
Dialing_Fb
CallActive_Fb
Ringing_Fb
Incoming_Fb

Dialling out is to a single number that is sent from a SerialSend straight into String_To_Dial.
Answer, Reject & Hangup are mapped straight to joins on the 770.

Any time a call is placed, it can take upto a couple of minutes for the call to ring out.
During this time the Hangup button has no effect and the outgoing call cannot be cancelled, tying up the touchpanel in the process as the call dialog sits over all other UI functions.

Anyone seen similar issues & have any solutions I can try?
The client is adamant there is nothing wrong with their call system.

What problem did you run into with the ELK module for a 4-Series?? I don't remember any issues when I went from a 3-series to a 4-series when the 4-Series first came out.? I've been using an ELK panel for almost 15 years and, while the keypad emulation isn't perfect, it is close enough and the integration works very well.

I believe that the NEO is only *Integratable* via IP

Re: DSC PowerSeries Neo

If Honeywell has discontinued the 128BPT, that's news!? Where did you hear that?? I have two projects prepared with them...

If that's true about NEO and Alarm.com, that would put a nail in the coffin for it...

The only other panel that I've heard is integratable is the ELK, but I think on another thread others were complaining about that too...

Re: Xpanel web conversion tool

I just did this today. Created the webpage and loaded?to the processor. It doesn't work because flash. Run the converter against the control system and it replaced the files and after that the new converted page container gets served up.

Turns out I got bad info, the end user preferred standalone Xpanel project anyway so this is a non-issue.?

Re: Savant 2N with Crestron

Load the stock firmware from the 2N website on the unit.

Re: DSC PowerSeries Neo

I recently did a hack (read: do-it-yourself non-standard integration) using an Arduino to connect two different RS232 clients to the same GE NX-8E alarm panel's single RS232 port.? I basically programmed the Arduino to be aware of the home automation protocol at the packet level.? The Arduino basically acted as a packet router of the GE custom protocol, offering the GE alarm panel API to be available to two serial ports instead of one.? The result was production-level reliable.? I know nothing about the Neo panel, but wonder if the same concept could apply here.

The app on the Arduino only had to have enough knowledge of the packet protocol to keep packets intact and implement a buffering queue to prevent collisions, and to make sure that the responses went to the same port that requested them.

Re: RMC4 weird behaviour

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Yes, Series-4 is included.

I?m running a very similar program at a different client also on a RMC4.

Actually, I used that program as the template for this installation¡

?

I will do some further testing on Thursday and report back. The client has moved back to the RMC3 and everything is working. Unfortunately, he can only run the RMC4 OR the RMC3 at the same time, since he only has one PoE port available

Thorsten

Re: DSC PowerSeries Neo

Edited

This may be off topic... The question was, will neo integrate with Crestron(s).
This doesn't answer that question, but...
In two of my recent attempts to get an alarm systems integrated, I have been informed (doesn't make it so. Please verify - if not for you, then for me) that...
GE and Honeywell are no longer being made.
(The bad board for the GE had to be purchased off EBay).
And our Goto DSC panel is also (E)nd (O)f (L)ife and not made.
All that is basiclly left is... Neo.
Now two separate Alarm Lead Installers tells me that the Neo can only be connected to one "Smart" controller (Crestron or Alarm.com).? Both companies said that they will not install a panel if they can't tie it to Alarm.com.? They said that it gives them access to the system remotely in ways that no one else can, then said "and customers find it easier to use".
So, at this time we are alarm-less.

Re: Samsung CCD IP Control not powering back on.

One of the driver inputs is for the MAC address presumably to turn it on via WOL. ?It¡¯s a roll of the dice however if after a period of time it will actually power back on. ?I¡¯ve had 2 identical displays on the same LAN on the same FW act differently turning on and off. ?EXLink or IR for Samsungs is what we do.
