Re: CCD and Multizone Control

I have CLZs for both Pre and Post-200. Contact me offline if I can help...

Re: Hey Google - Australia

Just got around to trying this and it worked perfectly.? Thanks for this info!

Is there a trick to adding more devices and updating Google to reflect the added devices? It seems that every time I make a change (still messing around with various things) I need to completely delete the crestron stuff from Google home app, then de-register my processor on the admin portal and go through the whole process from scratch to grt it up and running again.?

I read a thread on here recently where someone detailed the easy way to add/update Google home devices but I've been trawling threads for the last half hour and I can't bloody find it again!!?

Re: CCD and Multizone Control

Must not be running the 200. databases then?

Re: CCD and Multizone Control

I'm old school, I would use the 'Sony STR-ZAxx v1.1.umc' module.
Reach out directly if you can't find it...

CCD and Multizone Control

Have a Sony STR-ZA1100ES.? How do you tell the CCD AV Receiver Ethernet 2.0 which zone to control?

Re: Crestron Go app questions

I call BS on that.
They said they had to because they sent out a release that caused all sorts of problems and Apple wouldn't allow them to send out the old one. Ok, so instead of taking the old one and changing the revision number and sending that out, they decided to create a new app and wait for that to be approved.
Seems to me it was a way to get extra revenue on an app that¡¯s junk and has all sorts of issues. Oh wait, they added support for retina. But did they, since you still have to develop the panels in the old resolution...

Re: Crestron Go app questions

The separated tablet and phone purchases are instigated by Apple. It isn't a Crestron choice.
As is the entire shift to Crestron go.

And yes, $ 100.00 bucks X2 for nothing but potential (we do all the work)...
They had an opportunity to go free when they had the Crestron App >> Crestron GO debacle, but no...
It is really petty for a Billion $$ plus company, given the thousands not millions of apps purchased...? I can't imagine that the revenue for it is even noticeable...

In the app settings you can disable Check for Update. That will speed it up a bit.

DIN-1DIMU4

I replaced my CLX-1DIM4 with a brand new DIN-1DIMU4, but in Toolbox it shows that it is a DIN-1DIM4. I have updated the firmware to the latest ones, but it still show as DIN-1DIM4.?

How can I make sure it reflects DIN-1DIMU4??

I have another unit of DIN-1DIMU4 running on the same rack and it shows the unit properly as DIN-1DIMU4. Thus it's not an installation problem. Could it be a bogus unit that manufacturer labeled it wrongly?

Re: NVX With Cisco 9300

If LLDP cannot be enabled it would be best to have a conversation about ¡°Why¡± and see if the objection can be overcome through other means (e.g. by disabling/blocking LLDP on specific ports/port ranges) ¨C IMO static POE is a bit hackish and the last resort.

If anyone is having POE issues with Catalysts, turn on LLDP protocol with following command:
LLdp run

This will allow NVX endpoints to properly negotiate power. They may work but only pulling 15.4 watts, which would not be enough.

If lldp can not be enabled, you can set static POE power per port.

Crestron Go app questions

from a client:
  • If the Crestron App is running as a background App and you bring it to the foreground, there is a 5 second waiting time for the App to reconnect to the system. This is a Crestron App issue, either configuration issue or poor design. (Crestron can design the backroom connectivity as a service that runs even if the App is running in the background.) I realize you may not be able to do anything about this, but Crestron should receive feedback.
In my humble opinion, it is unreasonable that Crestron charges separately for Tablet versus Cellphone App. Looks like a money grab on their part. Given that all the programming had to be redone to be compatible with Crestron backroom software updates, you would think Crestron would consider softening the blow by not charging much or anything for the App or giving existing customers an upgrade discount from previous App. Instead, a whopping $250. Again, this is not your fault. Just stating my discontentment from someone who has some experience in the business of selling software
any way to fix the 1st issue i.e. to make it connect faster?

Re: NVX With Cisco 9300

29 C9300 Switches
2 Core Switches
40G links to the Cores.
890 and growing NVX Endpoints.
Dozens of Touch panels, Audio, etc.
10 4 series processors

Cores are the Querier

Each port of the C9300 looks like this:
interface GigabitEthernet1/0/5 switchport access vlan 350 switchport mode access power inline port 2-event no ip igmp snooping tcn flood

No Issues.
Had to move the DANTE devices to its own VLAN because of message traffic and intermittent clocking but NVX and Control is rock solid.

Re: UC Engine reliability

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

We have a new install which is not in direct connect mode. The touchpanel seems to not reconnect after nightly reboot. We are using the uc engines static ip. Crestron says it¡¯s got to be a network issue. But we don¡¯t know what the network issue could be exactly.?

Hi all,

Appreciate you all taking time out of your day to reply to this topic.

Zac and Kyle, that seems to be our consensus aswell regarding Zoom stability, far less call outs.

Bruce, yes this relates to the dreaded usb to Ethernet adapter. Crestron of past, recommend this to us to negate any network issues, the irony now is this seems the less reliable route!

As Chris rightly pointed out we are the guinea pigs! That does wear thin pretty quick though and certainly in the eyes of the client, we are where the buck stops.

It would be nice to for Crestron to take responsibility rather than saying Microsoft this and Microsoft that, if there¡¯s a Crestron badge on it¡.its for them to take ownership!

Is it the RL2 you were mentioning Lincoln? If it is I hated those things with a passion lol.

Re: DMC-VID-RCA-D

I don't think so, since that would need a DSP to conver DD/DTS to PCM. PCM multichannel is not possible via toslink/coaxial.

Also, note that with that card, when using the digital inputs, you will only get audio on analog outs of the output cards - it will be missing from the HDMI out stream (talking about 2ch PCM)

DMC-VID-RCA-D

Does anyone know if the DMC-VID-RCA-D will downmix the digital input to 2-channel for the DMC-HDO analog output?

Re: Control JVC IP camera KY-PZ100 #cp4 #crestron #http

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I've been playing with the bigger brother to this unit - the KY-PZ510 using an old AV2

I have used this manual: to control it.

Basically I opened up an UDP connection to the IP on port 1259 and used a SIO to send VISCA commands.
What I sent for the "Home" command was: \x81\x01\x06\x04\xff? (had to play around to figure out the "X" in the command sheet was 1 for me).

Curious what your use case is, I know we have sold a lot of?
Mostly because they are something that is more interactive for our end users.?
