Barco Alchemy (AKA DP2K-6E) Projector Standby/Wake commands?

There's really scant info online. After some digging, The closest I got was these:

\xfe\x00\x66\x00\x00\x66\xff? ? ?put it in sleep mode
\xfe\x00\x67\x00\x00\x67\xff? ? ?take out of sleep mode

but the protocol doc I found says this is only for?DP2K-10Sx DP2K-10S and when I send these it returns an error code.

I have a good module with lamp and shutter commands but I need to turn it right off. These working commands are in the same format, sending on IP port 43728. Anyone?

Thx much in advance

Re: "Add a symbol and enter" is broken

I noticed this the other day. I thought I was going crazy for a bit until I realized what was going on.

Re: "Add a symbol and enter" is broken

Enter no longer clears the last?typed
so if you?type "init" ENTER ENTER ENTER you get 3 init?

Hello.
I just realized today that the function where you type a symbol followed by colon and name of symbol is broken.
It always adds the last thing that was typed. Example if I type "sub:init" ENTER then "sub:GUI" ENTER then "sub:Videowall" ENTER, the first folder is named "init" as it should, the second folder is named "initsub:GUI" and the third "initsub:GUIsub:Videowall"

SIMPL Windows:? 4.25 (build: 4.2500.04)

This is a major PITA!
Anyone else noticed that?

Re: What are Alexa Scenes in the Voice Control Room Lights module?

Edited

Refer to the "Voice Control: Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Josh.ai, TSW / TSR" article.

See the section titled "Amazon Alexa: Enabling Crestron Skills and Discovering Devices."
Note that "Alexa, ask/tell Crestron..." commands require the 2nd skill called "Crestron Home Automation" to be installed.

Then see the section titled "Default Voice Command Syntax for Controlling Devices" for verbiage used to recall the scenes.

  • Recall Scenes?- Alexa responds - "Recalling the <SCENE> in <ROOM>."
Use for custom commands - Drive SceneName$ signals from SIO/MSEND; can be changed during runtime.
    • "Alexa, ask/tell Crestron to recall <SCENE> in <ROOM>" (ie "morning scene in kitchen")
    • "Alexa, tell Crestron I want to <SCENE> in <ROOM>" (ie "unlock door in front entry")
    • "Alexa, tell Crestron I would like to <SCENE> in <ROOM>" (ie "watch?a movie?in the family room")
    • "Alexa, tell Crestron it's time to <SCENE> in <ROOM>" (ie "sleep in the bedroom")
++ Then see the section titled "Tips and Tricks."
Keep in mind that configuring custom Routines phrases in the Alexa side of things is often a better route.
Routines offer much more elegant and short simple phrasing, but SIMPL scenes offer more complex behaviors.

Re: Issue with Simpl import

It just hangs for a bit at each folder level

Issue with Simpl import

Got a new issue today.? When I hit the file and choose import archive, simpl just freezes.? Has anyone else seen this?

Re: Comcast (xFinity) Voice and the TSR-310

Great info, Dave! Thanks! we're waiting with baited breath!...Haha...
Seriously, I've been waiting for this for ~ 7 years!...:)

Re: Comcast (xFinity) Voice and the TSR-310

TSR-310 XFinity voice control was previewed at CEDIA 2023, but this was using an XFinity STB running prerelease firmware.
The CH driver is ready to go, but users are still waiting on XFinity STB FW rollout for it to work.
I believe I heard XFinity mention they were aiming for ~Q4 23 to start rolling this out.
I don't think we'll see this ability in SIMPL until XFinity completes their widespread release & reliability has been confirmed with CH systems.
Please manage your timeframe expectations accordingly.

++ That said, I was the person conducting the demo at CEDIA (first time hands-on with it), and I was *very* impressed by the performance.
It was fast and reliable, even with only ~10Mbps internet for the booth, WiFi interference from other booths, and a loud expo floor.
The TSR voice reportedly responded quicker than XFinity's remote in some testing. XFinity's team stopped by and were very pleased.

Re: Comcast (xFinity) Voice and the TSR-310

Home can't do it yet as far as I know. They're just doing their normal thing where they advertise features far before they're actually available.

Interesting that you aren't seeing this behavior!??
As Slip mentioned, I'm updating my ATV module with the P+H logic to hit the menu/back for a press and the HOME command (extended driver) for the P+H...

I'll find another line of work if they do...? ?

Re: Apple TV Select Button

Keep in mind Greg B that you will loose the Press & Hold functions if you use a MOS. Better off using the press and hold module.

Re: Comcast (xFinity) Voice and the TSR-310

I have been told it's a long way down the road. Bastards are trying to make us give up Simpl.

Re: Apple TV Select Button

Updated mine this weekend and still works correctly with IR, however I had to add MOS to a client's Apple TV today using the same IR module.

Comcast (xFinity) Voice and the TSR-310

Hi All,
Does anyone know if we can integrate Comcast voice control with TSR-310, with CUSTOM systems yet?
I know that HOME can do it now I hear, but being a 'red-headed step-child' I need an SMW solution...:)
TIA!

Re: OT: Audio for Flex/Zoom Rooms

Audio Technica has a decent Dante ceiling microphone as well. Great price too. If the budget is there though, go with Shure.?

For DSP, QSC or Biamp is the way. If you're using multiple cameras, then use QSC because you can use their cameras as well.?
Related to cameras, if you want to do some speaker tracking, the Sennheiser microphone is great for that.?

For handhelds and lavs, again Shure, Audio-Technica, and Sennheiser are your go-tos with a DSP of some sort. Personally I like the Shure SLXD range for price to performance. ULXD and QLXD are great as well. If you need antenna distribution check out the RF Venue D-Arc.?

Re: What are Alexa Scenes in the Voice Control Room Lights module?

You can use them to trigger any lighting scene you have programmed, or anything really. Its just really an invocation phrase you can put whatever logic you want behind. Lighting scenes can also be done via Alexa Routines which allows you to creat them in the Alexa side and not modify the program. We always have a handful of lighting scenes for every room in our programs anyway so I just tie those to the Alexa Scenes.?

Re: OT: Audio for Flex/Zoom Rooms

For ceiling mics, you will really struggle to beat the Shure MXA series.? They are Dante so will work with QSC or even the biamp. The sennheiser Team Connect 2 ceiling mics are pretty good too.? I actually did a conference space the other day using 8 TC2 ceiling mics and we managed to be able to give the client some mix minus voice lift using the ceiling mics which was quite impressive.

As far as table mics go, there is plenty of options out there but to be honest, we don't do many these days.? Everyone seems to want ceiling mics.? Particularly doing flexible spaces, table mics arent a great solution.??

If going down the Biamp Tesira path, they do their own ceiling mics (both ceiling mounted and pendant style) and they also do a table mic version.? Google Biamp Parle.? They sound pretty good too.? They aren't Dante though, they are AVB which can have its own challenges.

What are Alexa Scenes in the Voice Control Room Lights module?

Can anybody tell me what the Scenes (LightScenes) are in the Voice Control Room Lights module? I it seems like it's an old feature of Alexa, and since I've never used it until now, it seems like I can't, if I haven't created scenes before now, right??
