Re: IR control thru DM RMC Weirdness

Edited

Maybe because serial is more widely used to control LG's vs IR? Perhaps the OP could use serial vs IR with better results.

Re: TST-902 over wifi connection keeps disconnecting. #tst902

Pretty much sums up my experience with them.? Replace with ipads and put it down to a lesson learned. :)?

More VC-4 - CWS issue this time...

I'm having a hard time getting a VC-4 to host some HTTP data using CWS.
The same code works fine from an appliance... but on VC-4 I keep getting a 404-Error Not Found.

Anybody out there *successfully* using CWS with a VC-4?

?

Re: TST-902 over wifi connection keeps disconnecting. #tst902

We have decent experience with the TST-902's.? All of them from systems we take overs because we would never spec them in.? One client had 9 of them across their building and we experienced the same thing.? All of them will drop communication periodically, not update feedback, screen goes blank, etc.? Wifi seemed to be slightly more reliable then the GWEXER however they both sucked.? In the end the only reliable solution we could find for the customer was replacing them with iPads or hardwired TSW panels.? Which in the end was crazy with the client that had 9 of the TST's and each in a wall dock.? When we took the system over they never even realized the panels can be removed from the dock.? They thought they were permanently fixed in the walls.? So, replacing those with in wall TSW panels was a good solution for them.? Crestron telling you they don't know what is going on or haven't seen this issue before is BS.? The issues you're experiencing has appeared on every single one I've ever worked on.??

Thanks for the reply! I'll start a new thread on this and continue my education!! :)?

Re: IR control thru DM RMC Weirdness

I don't think that the issue is the IR driver, per se, as I've tried a version with the Pulse IR filter applied.
We did some more testing and multiple LG files behaved basically the same way, BUT the tried and true Samsung UN series driver worked fine.
It appears to be something about the LG drivers being processed thru the RMC IR output...
Granted, I haven't dealt with LG at all more than 2-3 times in the last 5-7 years, but its weird to me that no one seems to have see this issue. there has to be at least 10% of the DM installs that have LG TVs on their RMCs, wouldn't you think??

Re: Sonos Unhandled Exception

Have seen these errors throughout the awesome Sonos "integration" years, and I know they disappeared with newer firmware. What FX are you running on this system??

OK, thanks.
I?m currently traveling, but i?ll give it a try when i?m back in the office.

That?s actually exactly the setup i?d like to go for.

?

I have done this for a dedicated browser only TSW as well as a panel that is just for the Sonos app. Once the panel boots up it goes right into the desired application. You can just have a blank first page, and under Transition Complete Digital Join just use the reserved join needed- for Open Browser it would be 28600. That way then the page is drawn it fires that join and opens the browser. If you add the browser embedded app to that page you can specify the File- Default Path which would be the browser home page.??

Geoff Reynolds wrote an IR utility several years ago, that could easily swap the one-time and repeat codes, in addition to a few other useful functions.

I no longer have the link, but maybe he'll chime in with it.

Crestron has ever come up with a fix for it.

The issue is the DM-RMC-100-C does not handle an IR codes properly that has
both at header and a repeat section. LG uses header length of 34 and then a
very short repeat section of length two. Yamaha is similar.

Basically what you need to do is generate 2 IR codes each for functions like
vol+, vol-, up, down, left, and right. For example, for up you will have a Up-
Pulse and a Up-Hold. For the Up-Pulse, you will remove the repeat section of
the code so it just sends out a single 34 length header IR pulse. For the
Up_Hold, you will take the 34 length header and replace the repeat section with
it -- so in the end you have a 0 length header and a 34 length repeat section
which used to be the header. Then in your SIMPL program send the header pulse
when the client pushes a button. If the client holds the button, then send out
the repeat code.

Probably be best to use a program like VERT to convert Crestron codes into
standard hex codes. Then manually edit the hex codes and then import them back
into Crestron.

Good luck,
Steve

Re: IP Table Offline #simplwindows

FYI, for Crestron IP-controlled products, the Hardware device/IP connection uses only the IP-ID. The connection ip address is a loopback: 127.0.0.1 (except for a few maddening quasi-Crestron devices)
In fact you can't change this...
When using non-Crestron devices with for ex: the TCP/IP client symbol, you will need to add a specific IP address (or host name, though I don't recommend this) so that the processor knows who to talk to...

Re: IP Table Offline #simplwindows

Edited

When you create your SIMPL program, you'll define the various devices within the program. Each is assigned to an IPID. When you compile and load your code, the IP Table is automatically configured on the processor, based on your program. There's an option when loading to let the program update the IP Table, so make sure you allow that. So now, your processor knows what connections to expect (touchpanels and other Crestron devices, including Crestron Connected devices), and what connections to initiate (like TCP/IP connections to other controlled devices). For connections the processor is expecting, you'll need to set your touchpanels (for example) to use the same IPID you defined for them in the program, and point them at your processor's IP address. The touchpanel will initiate the connection, and when the processor sees a device connect on that IPID, it'll say "ah, I've been expecting you, and I know you're a touchpanel, and I'm already programmed to know what to do with each join number I might see from you."

Re: Sonos Unhandled Exception

Mmmm...Interesting!? We have 1052's (and 752's) and we've been having real issues with the 1052's - we just factory defaulted them!!? lets see...
Thanks for your input!!

Re: Sonos Unhandled Exception

From the error it looks like it's choking on data being sent from the media app to the sonos module, so I don't think it's related to S1/S2.

Maybe a touch panel is dropping offline with the media app open?

Re: TSR-310 Reset?

Hi Jason,
It would probably be better to start a separate thread for your questions, as I think they are more basic that this one has become, it might help others as well...
That said, the need to learn some of the fundamentals (like navigating Toolbox) is critical for someone who is going to manage Crestron systems, especially custom systems vs. Crestron Home, but even that as well...
I'd say basic training is probably not appropriate for this forum, though certainly basic questions are always welcome!!

Feel free to reach out to me if I can be of assistance

Re: TSR-310 Reset?

Hi guys, I'm new to Crestron and learning as I go, so go easy on me please! I am having problems with a new TSR-310 and getting it connected to my main WiFi network, so I searched and found this thread and figured I'd add to it instead of creating a new thread, if I should create a new thread just let me know.

I can't get my primary WiFi network to display so I can connect to it, it displays my guest network and I've connected to that, but my system is on my primary and so it can't find the system when on the guest network. I do have access to Toolbox, although I really have no idea how to use it, so I fumble through learning as I go, but I can't seem to connect to the remote with a USB cable. I followed the above instructions to reset the remote and I thought it did, but when it rebooted it still had my guest WiFi network locked in and connected, so I don't think it fully rebooted.

Can somebody please offer some guidance and help as to what I should try to do next to get this connected to my primary WiFi network? This looks to be a great remote but right now it's just a great paperweight, lol! Thanks!

Re: AnyCon Camera DVR/NVR recorders

Edited

Yes we work only with Avycon and Axis for several years now since I've tried to steer us away from Hik and Dahua.

The control is limited tho. There is no API, that comes directly from Alfred who is an engineer there who gives the best and most advanced support to us from time to time.?

Since we don't use external control for these, I'm sorry I don't have more relevant info...... But I would say that their onvif support is solid and if you are simply controlling cameras, not playback, you should absolutely try sending IP onvif commands directly to the cameras not the nvr.

Beyond that, ask for Alfred ..? and if you do get any updated NVR control please let me know !

Sonos Unhandled Exception

Hi All,
I'm seeing this Error Pair continuously on a site with an older Sonos Connect that is still on the 'S1' platform. It seems to work fine for the client, but I'm concerned that it will become an issue.
Is this anything that stands out to anyone as something specific, or could it be just the S1 legacy not playing nice with the v3.1.0 module?? I haven't integrated with S1 units for a few years...
I see that there's a v3.1.1 module, but the release note just indicates a change to some labeling in the S# side...

Anyone have any ideas??? TIA!

Re: TST-902 over wifi connection keeps disconnecting. #tst902

I forgot to mention that the WAPs are currently configured to be in 'access point mode'
- our network switch connects to the 'in' port on the WAP

Previously they were not set to 'access point mode' and they experienced the same problem.? Switching to 'access point mode' was a possible solution.
