Re: Firmware update issues with 3-series
Interesting, Alex!...
I'll try this. Though when I do an update, I always use 'puf cp3_1.8001.0214.puf all' command, which I *Assumed* was the same. I'll try it tonite an update the post... Also FYI, I thought i had posted this but a friend was thinking that it might be the internal 'watch' battery that backs up the unit. since this unit is 1-+ years old, that seemed like a possibility... Unfortunately upon checking, the 3V lithium battery had a voltage of 3.01V !!!? so that doesn't seem to be the issue... |
Re: Firmware update issues with 3-series
I just updated an AP3 to 1.8x yesterday. This unit was previously on 1.504 which was our "go-to" stable version before some of the certificates went out of date. I always use "puf all" when I update through ftp.? This has been the most reliable way to update firmware and I haven't seen any reason not to do this.? I would assume that it forces each file to update not just what it has determined SHOULD update.

Legrand DMX RS232 GATEWAY
Has anyone controlled DMX from Crestron using this piece?? I have 4 DMX lighting fixtures I want to give controls for on a touch panel, namely brightness and color temperature.? I am reaching out to Legrand, who sells the device, but hoping someone here has dealt with this.

Re: D3PRO + horizon keypads + 3 or 4-series cpu not working
Its been a while since i've used the Horizon HZ-KPEX or HZ-KPCN, but if you have issues with the keypads flashing, here are my notes on what the different flash codes are:
Turns on for 5 seconds = The device is communicating with the control system. Flashes 3 times = The device is communication with the gateway, but the gateway is not communicating with the control system. Flashes twice = The device was previously joined to the network but is not communicating with the gateway. Flashes once = The device is not joined to the network. What flash code is the keypad flashing and which Horizon keypad models are you using? |
D3PRO + horizon keypads + 3 or 4-series cpu not working
Has anyone experienced horizon keypads not working with MC3 or MC4 processors? I've a project with bunch of horizon KPs working great with D3PRO and AV2. When changing to MC3 or MC4, the keypads just flashes the leds when i try to push a button. Is there any setting may I missing on the d3pro software? (i'd tried to insert serial numbers on the D3 with no success).
Thank you! |
Re: Firmware update issues with 3-series
I am starting to see unreliablity on sites that I have updated 1.603 to 1.8x. Running out of memory and reboots are common whereas when they were running 1.603 they were perfectly fine. Several cases open that are going nowhere. I wonder if this 1.8x firmware has some internal issues or something is getting broken in the upgrade process.?

Re: Firmware update issues with 3-series
Dear All, I had the same issue a week ago on two processors. The first one was running 1.8 firmware, but not the latest version and I cannot manage to upgrade. The second one was running 1.6 firmware and I fired the?betacleanup?command?before upgrading and it worked fine. The upgrade was really but it worked. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to try again on the first processor. Regards, Le?mer. 8 f¨¦vr. 2023 ¨¤?07:31, Bambam_101 <wiredhometechnologies@...> a ¨¦crit?: I went from 1.6 to 1.8 and as mentioned previously, most of my TCP connections broke on 1.8 and the AP3 started rebooting every day.? Reprogrammed my TCP connection logic (rather than my lazy 1 on the connect) which fixed that issue.?? |

I went from 1.6 to 1.8 and as mentioned previously, most of my TCP connections broke on 1.8 and the AP3 started rebooting every day.? Reprogrammed my TCP connection logic (rather than my lazy 1 on the connect) which fixed that issue.??
But troubleshooting the rebooting, I eventually rolled back to 1.7 which didnt fix it.? Then went back to 1.6 which seemed to fix it.? Had another go at it and went up to 1.7 and then on to 1.8 and it has been stable for a few days now.? But... In all that screwing around, I hadn't noticed that all my Sony TV's had stopped being controlled.? They're controlled using CCD modules.? All the displays were connecting and getting feedback, but I could not control them anymore.? 2 Days!! 2 days of pulling my hair out trying to figure out what was going on. Eventually Google told me that Sony screens can send feedback but can not be controlled if the controller hasn't authenticated properly.? After playing around with the CCD authentication, I managed to fix it and turns out that on the previous 1.6 firmware, I could load my CCD params, load my authentication password and then load the driver.? Now on 1.8, I need to load the params, load the driver and once loaded, then send my authentication password.? Then it works. So after 2 days of pulling hair out and getting no end of grief from the wife and the kids as to why the TV's weren't working properly anymore, all it took was to add in a delay to my code. Pure fluke that I worked it out.? My system will stay on 1.8 until it dies.? |
Re: Firmware update issues with 3-series
For those having this issue with me, How old is the processor in question...
The one I'm working on is 10 years old... A good friend and electronic genius suggested that it may be the internal battery!!!? I hadn't thought about this but if the 'back-up' battery is going south, and it certainly is likely given that its 10+ years old, I wonder if this is the issue??? We're going to try to swap it and see... Would love to see what others are dealing with on this... |
Re: DMC-STR stream not starting. Troubleshooting Help Needed.
Thanks Mitch!? I took your advice and focused on the easiest camera I had to modify settings, a Bosch, go figure.? I was able to get it to 800x800 on a secondary stream and the DMC-STR accepted that and started the stream.? At least I can start there.? Thanks for the guidance!

p.s.? I had to wait a few hours until the wind changed direction also. On Tue, Feb 7, 2023 at 10:58 AM, Mitch Bigelow wrote: The DMC-STR is very _very_ picky about the streams it accepts. It was surreal when I saw this come through my notifications.? I had this exact experience on Feb 3rd. I chatted with True Blue after I had been at it for some time. ---Name----+---Slot---+-FW File Version----+-Device FW Version--+---Description--- |

The DMC-STR is very _very_ picky about the streams it accepts. According to the specs it supports H264 up to 1080p, but you'll be lucky if you can coax it into accepting a 720p stream.
If you must use it make sure that: - Your streamer codec is H264, not H265 or MJPEG - Resolution is <1080p - Video bitrate is lowish - The wind is blowing to the north east. |
