¿ªÔÆÌåÓýNot to mention that for most rooms most of the time just keeping everything on the touch 10 leads to a better UX for the end users because it¡¯s more consistent from room to room (simple rooms where it¡¯s JUST a codec touch10 and display and fancier rooms with lighting/shades/HVAC, etc. work the same way.) ¨C combine that with intelligent design, like using sync for input selection rather than making users choose inputs and it makes for a very low-friction experience.? The only downside is because so much magic is happening behind the curtains it can sometimes take a conversation for the client to understand what they need you for, but when they do it¡¯s a very good relationship. ? This does get tricker for more ¡°touchy¡± rooms but I still prefer to keep the T10/NAV as the primary UI where I can drive things in that direction with the ¡°Tech Panel¡± used more on an ¡°exception¡± than ¡°routine¡± basis. ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ? I don't believe the Cisco modules, including the newer 4.0 version will launch a teams meeting due to the WebRTC needing to be launched. I've found it much easier to add whatever controls for the space I need to the Cisco Touch 10 /Navigator then try and keep up with the ever evolving Cisco API. Especially with most of them being Cloud connected now and auto-updating software Revs. You never know when Cisco will change something and "break" your room. |

Re: Alternatives to Crestron UC solutions
We¡¯ve been selling a lot of Yealink for Zoom and Teams. Great product line and very integrator friendly. As a dealer, we make much better margins on Yealink vs. Logitech, and support is far superior. You can add custom controls to Yealink touch panel with support for Q-Sys, Extron, or AMX control systems. This integration is done by loading an HTML5/CSS page to the panel that talks directly to the control system. I¡¯d imagine it could be made to work with Crestron control as well using this method.?

Re: Alternatives to Crestron UC solutions
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI can¡¯t say I¡¯ve tried it recently but I seem to recall having done it¡ For Zoom I believe you should be able to run it in the Zoom mode and pair it (the TSW) as a controller to any zoom room using the pairing key. ? For Teams I believe you¡¯re out of luck because a TSW in teams mode is essentially just a remote desktop/VNC session to the UC engine (this is much like with the Skype For Business UC-CODEC-100 but instead of it being a completely different SKU getting video over a DM (-like) connection the video comes over the network. (I think part of this may be Microsoft¡¯s desire to have total control over the user experience and ¡°certified¡± solutions rather than the Mr. Potatohead approach and support nightmare supporting any combinations of hardware could lead to¡but that is just a guess) -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ? Alternatives to Crestron UC solutions
Hi All,
Like others, we have a few project that we're needing to deliver in a few months instead of the year+ if we wait for Crestron equipment... Are there 3rd party UC/Zoom/Teams solutions?? Has anyone have good experience with these? Can we use the Zoom/Teams apps in the TSW-x70 systems to control the 3rd party UC equipment, like the Crestron UC? TIA! |
