Re: DM-NVX-351 on different subnet

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

One of my biggest NVX projects so far I intentionally put all of the NVX on a completely different VLAN/subnet from the control stuff and while I was only doing the network design/config for that I haven¡¯t heard of any control issues.

?

Of course all of the NVX encoders and decoders need to be on the same VLAN (or you need to have a multicast router/proxy with appropriately sized interfaces) for video between them to work but as long as they can see the processor for control no reason it should need to be on the same subnet.

Subject: [crestron] DM-NVX-351 on different subnet

?

We mainly to DM-MD16x16 systems and usually just use DM-NVX to send AV to a remote location such as a pool house via fiber.

But I have a project coming up that we are using DM-NVX-351s instead because a number of the rooms exceed the maximum distance allowed by HD BaseT.? I would like to put the DM-NVX on a different subnet than the CP4. Programming will be done in SIMPL. At one time I know that there were issues with IR and RS232 on the DM-NVX if the processor was on a different subnet.? Was that every fixed?? Or are there any other caveats on have the processor on a different subnet?

Re: Simpl compiled zipped file is missing sgd

Edited

I performed a quick unit test with latest sw vers & confirmed everything is working as expected.
See annotated screenshots/captions for details here -

Would probably need to know more about your specific program history / workflow to better advise as to why SIMPL is prompting you to locate the file.

SIMPL team noted:

<program name>_archive.zip will contain the required .sgd_ -> this archive is created on Saves and SaveAs
<program name>_compiled.zip will only be created ONLY if the compiler preference to "Create Archive" is set
  • (Options->Preferences->Compiler->"create archive")
Could it be this person doesn't have this set and the _compiled.zip they are sharing is old and incomplete?
?
<program name>.LPZ is what is sent to the control system and will not contain program files BUT, will include the _archive.zip file if the option in compiler preferences is set to do so
  • (Options->Preferences->Compiler->"Create archive and embed into compiled program")
?
No archive will have the .SGD file that comes from VTPro-e unless manually added but, programs will open as long as they have the .sgd_
?
All bets are off if people start manually moving/zipping/manipulating their program files during the workflow

I've temporarily suspended the "offending" member until I can figure out what's causing it, so no one should receive replies from that address. Once I receive a notification from that member, his membership will be returned to normal status.

Add me to the list.? Every time I reply to a post via the groups.io web gui, I get an auto reply email from ekontos@... or yordan.lyaskov@...

Re: Att: Moderators - I'm getting spam emails from Groups.io

I also get individual emails and almost always only reply to group posts via email - and I've never received one of those out-of-office messages.

I'm not sure why you would receive individual "out of office" replies, but if
you forward one of those emails to me I'll look into it.

Thanks.

I have not been getting OOF¡¯s (including my own) from Groups.io.

Seems like a misconfiguration on that sender¡¯s end that you¡¯re getting multiple replies instead of a single one, but also to pick nits doesn¡¯t sound like ¡°spam¡± (in the unsolicited commercial email sense) but rather ¡°unwanted¡±

Re: NVX Switchingh in simpl

2-series does in fact allow you to add NVX devices, though I would be careful about scale...Seems that your system is pretty small..

regarding SMW Programming/Routing:
I have always just used the StreamLocation serial in/outs from the NVX device symbols. You don't need to do any subscribing, which is only needed (I think) when you're using the web browser though I don't even know that its needed for that...

In SMW, set up a programmatic serial matrix logic and route the 'StreamLocation_F' output signals from the encoder device symbols to the 'StreamLocation' input signals on the decoder device symbols.
If you're using any of the 300-series endpoints, you'll need to initialize the Video Source Analog inputs on the Decoders for select the stream input instead of the local HDMI inputs, on the 300-series Encoders, you'll use the Video Source analog input to select the input HDMI source desired...

That's all that's needed for routing, and it is very scalable...

Re: File /Modules/TPLink_Switch.zip uploaded #file-notice

I never really looked into it as for my needs, this is enough (all on/off).

I'll see if I can find some time to add individual control, assuming it's easy enough.
