For me, it's not even a question...? I get the BIPAD8 off of eBay on a regular basis.? They last forever... like, literally, forever.? I have three in my home and feed them from my DM16x16 DSP cards.? They are simple, work perfectly, and are a great product.? I have to note any contract I sell that they are (B) stock product, but I warranty them for a year myself, make excellent profit on them, and if it breaks (never happened with several dozen sold) it is inexpensive to replace.

Still miss the MX850/ML600 remote.? That one was killer as well.

I hate to sound like a broken record here but the chatter about the long-standing issue of Sonos control and program rebooting is not what¡¯s going on and it¡¯s diluting the thread. ?There is a brand new breaking issue that as far as I can tell just popped up within the last few days. ?I now have a handful of clients reporting similar issues along with my personal setup at home. ?Systems with multiple Sonos devices have inconsistent failures. ?Volume and transport controls are not restored via program restart and have had mixed reports of multiple hardware restarts eventually working. ?In every case the favorites and now playing images are no longer populating. ?All of the problems in our case are running S2. ?I was fine with putting Sonos control in it¡¯s own program slot and restarting it...that solution, albeit a little lame, makes the control pretty stable. ?BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT IS GOING ON CURRENTLY.

No, those are still the latest and greatest.? As a matter of fact, volume and mute control is all I ever used them for.? And, unfortunately, they still loose that control too.

Client does not want Media Player or even transport - just volume & mute control.

Actually, I don't have an answer to that. After reading the other
responses, it looks like a simple program reboot would do it. I am
especially interested in putting the SONOS on program 2 and just rebooting
that program. At the moment, I do a full hardware reboot.

Also, at my office I have a TSW760 running Crestron Home with a CP4R.? Its working perfectly fine with a Sonos Connect running S2.? Favorites work fine.

This is quite confusing.? I had to fully reboot the processor to get basic controls working again.? Usually just rebooting the program works.? I have a Play 1, a Connect, and a Sonos One voice control.? I can control transports and volume on the Play 1 and Connect, but nothing on the Sonos One.? Also, none of the Sonos Favorites are populating now.

S1 is definitely required for TSWx60 Sonos App support (as TSWx60 only runs S1 app), but both S1 and S2 have historically been working for Media Player control.

True Blue recently received several reports of Sonos S2 12.1 update from 9/29 breaking Media Player functionality, but this is currently being investigated and should be addressed.

Hey guys,

?I've done a little research on the Sonos 3rd party integration.? It turns out that the Sonos API is actually? public available however you have to register as a developer at Sonos website to get to it.? For example, here is a link to control the volume on the Sonos:


At least the way I read it, it does appear that every time you discovery your Sonos devices you have to have an Internet connection and connected to the Sonos Cloud service to discovery your Sonos devices.

And if you are interested in developing your own Sonos interface, here is an open source github example of Sonos control using node.js.

I have always had issues with Sonos and started putting Sonos modules in their own slot for a nightly reboot. We still get a bunch of errors and lose control. Sometimes it lasts the whole day without an issue, sometimes they occur not far after the prog restart. S1 or S2. Just developed a system with Sonos.
Testing here in the workshop on my S1 system works fine.
The client's system is S2 based Sonos Port and Crestron V3.1.0 modules will not connect.

Is there a later version of the Sonos modules in DB 200 that works with S2?

Although it¡¯s rubbish for everybody who¡¯s going to be effected, I¡¯m glad it¡¯s not just me.?


Was trying to think if it could have been something unique in my programming, but to have multiple jobs just stop working with no programming changes made me think it was an external issue......

Have been seeing basically the same issues. Control seems to be very intermittent. Unplugging certain Sonos Amps seemed to enable the control of the playbar, but it wasn¡¯t always the same amps that had to be unplugged. Not sure if it was related to the number of Sonos devices on the network but couldn¡¯t make it reliable enough to use.?

Yes indeed, and also the smaller TS-AMS8 has everything you need IMHO (incl. possible subwoofer out config.).

In a Control4 training i asked the trainer if it?s possible to use with other control systems (AKA ?can i have the control procotol¡°) and he didn?t say ?no¡°.

I?ll ask him.

I don't suppose anyone has reverse engineered the Triad TS-AMS24?? It's the perfect solution 24x24 matrix.? The problem is they got bought out by Control 4 and they use it exclusively on their system.? I've considered hacking it, but haven't had the chance.?

Nope, it isn't just you. I¡¯ve been sitting at home fiddling with it all afternoon. This is NOT the standard reset the processor and it all comes back. Something definitely is ¡®up¡¯. I have Playbar who¡¯s volume works fine, a Beam with no volume control and a Connect on S2 with what seems to be only one way coms...transport controls seem to work but no cover art, no station icons...of course dozens will have to make noise until Crestron even acknowledges that their might be an issue. It happened sometime yesterday as we were onsite fiddling with a DMPS and the Sonos connected to it wouldn¡¯t connect to save my life.

easiest way, You need to access the room control in the codec and add the panel from there. also, you can download the room control editor from Cisco but you need to know the software running as it changes.

You can edit it using macros if you know the coding.
