Regarding the issue where the advanced buttons are looking more "squarish", that probably has to do with the higher resolution capabilities of the updated app. The way I got around this:

1) locate the graphic for the button in question. You will have to have the smart graphics theme assets downloaded to your computer (it should be available at the application market or somewhere). In my case, I am using Black Glass 2.0 and searched for Buttons Standard > BlackGlass2_Standard Common Up.png. The original crestron graphic is too small for higher resolution projects (90x45)... so I opened that up on Photoshop and simply stretched it up to 200x100... a little bit of pixelation occurs but not too bad. Now "save as" and give it a distinctive name, for example "BlackGlass2_Standard Common Up_200x100.png" (as long as you dont override your original theme asset... you never know when you are going to need the original again).?

2) Now go to VTPro and select a custom image path for your button, go and select your new graphic, also on the fill type, select Nine Slice for a button that is friendly to being re-sizable. In my case, some 12 pixels around the corners did it... so set it x1=12, y1=12 and x2=188 (which is 200 minus 12) and y2=88 (which is 100 minus 12) - your numbers will vary according to the graphic you are dealing with... but for most theme standard buttons that will get stretched up to 200x100, 12 pixels is the magic number.

By doing this I was able to keep the "roundedness" of the advanced buttons, of which I am a big fan.

Now, before you start pulling your hair thinking that you will have to do this to every single button in the project, the answer is yes and no.... you can copy/paste certain things and apply to a bunch of buttons at once... for example, on the advanced button you just updated, simply right-click on the ImageType attribute and copy... then you can select a bunch of other similar buttons on your page and, while having the same attribute selected (ImageType) you can "paste it". You will have to do this for each of the Normal, Pressed and Selected states... it's kind of a pain, but doable. I cannot live without rounded edges :)

Now what all this does to the memory on the VTProject I have no idea... it probably increases memory usage as you are now departing from native theme assets.

PS: I have been using this process for a long time in order to "import" some foreign buttons I liked from different themes without having to manage multiple themes, make them stretchable etc. So even though I know it probably uses more memory. It has been working well for me.? Edit: Just wanted to clarify, what I posted here earlier does work for my iPhone template, but not so well on iPads. There seems to be a lot of things that got distorted on the iPad... Crestron, can we have the app to render things the way it worked before? There is an obvious disconnect from what you see on VTPro and what ultimately gets rendered in the screen. |
